When I turn the headlight stalk to the fully on position, only the parking lights come on. The headlight motors do not come up, either...
But when I push the manual up button, the motors actuate. Still no lights, tho.
Anyone think this is just a bad combination switch or what? I don't know if the lights have power to them yet (let's assume they do not...)

Stalk does not control headlights anymore
If the stalk isn't sending power, the relays won't activate.... Conversely if the relays aren't working, the light's won't receive power, nor will they go up.
I'd start at testing the stalk, and go from there.
Where are the relays located? (just so I can do it all at once)
yep it's usually the stalk.
Thanks arro
I think I might have one in a box somewhere. Let me check that out, i can probably test it with a voltmeter and the fsm to make sure it work. If you want it, 10$ + ship. its your
Canada is a bit far tho, and shipping is gonna be expensive, check it out anyway tho if you want. shipping zip is 20895
I just eyeballed the size/weight of the package, shipping might be as low as around 8$, I'll get back to you with a precise quote if you want.
Please do!
lol i had to buy one of these from Nissan when i was in highschool. Bitch cost me like 100 bucks lol
damn! the 240SX stalk is also compatible with our cars

Thank you, now I don't have to spend as much or wait. I have an extra one!
(I'm surprised I didn't think of that... UGH)
whoa. . the first useful contribution ive ever made to this forum - i sure as hell hope im right Smiley
Well, seeing as how I can't find it currently, point is kinda moot right now. I'll post if it's true!
It's official, the S13 and S14 light combination switches do bolt up to our steering columns, but the plugs/sockets for the wire harness are completely different. I tried a switch from an old boxy Maxima, and it worked, but it was a cruise control switch. I had to swap the stalk from my old switch in order for the harness plug to work with it. I have tested it, and it works just like the old one used to. Smiley
pictures?
I have had that switch go bad. I just opened it up and cleaned the contacts with sand paper. now it works fine.
There are other ways in which it can go bad. For example, mine had a problem with the actuating pins. Others have had issues with the contacts losing their spring ability. There are things you cannot fix without a replacement.
