I have a 88 maxima that I have replaced the upper intake with the gutted Modified one. I am having a low end idle problem. It will not idle for me at all. Checked all hoses. I need a Guru answer!!!

Any vac leaks after putting it back together?  That'd be my guess.  Its either that, or gutting the intake made enough difference to cause the idle to drop.

I'm sure someone else is going to chime in and say dont do this, but I'd try to temporarily speed up the idle via the idler screw to see if you can get it to idle at all.  Just remember where it was so you can try to adjust it back.

Idle's high its probably a vac leak. Idles low might need to reset the battery if you haven't already, or adjust the IAC valve.

on a maf system, i would think it would idle poorly, almost surging if it were a vac. leak.

+1 for ecu reset via dsconnected battery, same for iac adjust.
