im guessing you have a ca20e?
On the ca's (most of em i think), there are 8 spark plugs..
2 for each cylinder..
One is primary, to fire the piston downwards,
and the secondary is for economy.. it just burns the gas that was not burnt by the primary..
Just make sure you have all of the right ones, to the right places..
If you dont have the 8 plug ca20e, then just make sure you put the spark plug wires on the right places on the distributer..
The rotor in the distributer might be going the other way than how you connected your spark plug wires.
Y i got a ca20e with 8 spark plugs. im pretty sure there on the right way. when i try to start it its makein like a popping sound inside the engine i think watever ill mess with it tomarrow But thanks 4 the help...................... later this year hopefully i want to swap the engine i was thinkin a ka24det but the sr20 is bad wat do u think
fOxr1d3r18it its makein like a popping sound inside the engine
Well, learn on your ca20e engine for a little bit, so you can get the basics.. then read alot about swaps.. alot.. untill your eyes bleed.. it will make the acctual swap go smooth and relitively painless.
Did you adjust your ignition timing with a timing light? that can easily be whats wrong..
alright man trust me i spent alot of time with this engine and i know alot about the pain of have a ca20e, i got the dam thing runnin a year ago after year of sitting. it just doesnt want to start now idk why maybe if someone with a ca20e can tell me or share a pic of how and where ur wires go that will help and about the swap i read alot and i like the ka and sr and i might go with the ka24 because its cheaper and anyone with a budget know wat im talkin about

Yeah. Well, like i said, it could be your ignition timing..
And a ka24 is a easy swap.. as long as you have all of the right parts, and you read all of the threads on here about the swap..
