What's The Tranny
The general rule for tranny identification is by year. 84 and 85 had the B tranny, 86 was a transition year and early 86's usually probably had the B tranny with the later 86's having the C tranny and 87 and 88 had the C tranny.
I see so I guess I have the B tranny then since my car is 85. Thanks a lot
Where are you located though, and what engine does your car have?
The info he gave you is more a US thing, and may be different for your location.
Im betting your car is a Russian car honestly, theres a TON of RU listed in its name, which is a combo i hadnt seen before, though i could be WAY the hell off with that one.
Yeah that is news to me too. That plate is totally different from the JDM and US spec plates I am used to seeing...on ours it lays out everything. it is just a bunch of blank space on that one...
Looks more like the door jam plate than the one on the engine bulkhead.
Here's an '85:
can i use 84 300zx axles with the 3bolt flange if i use the matching 5lug hubs? I'm wondering cuz i don't no if the axles are longer than the s12 axles
If you have an R200(VG or turbo car) then it'll work. The length is the same. The bolt pattern on the axles should be the same too, because I swapped my arms to Z31 and they all bolted up. Just make sure they are the same style bolt pattern AND it's not from an LSD Z31, because those axles are different.
well s12's have 6 bolts for the axles to bolt up to the hub. but both the z31's in the yard are 84's and they have 3bolts for the axles. i could grab the diff too
