Has anyone ever tried putting a panhard rod in the rear?
Axle tramp blows, will this reduce axle tramp?

Panhard Rod
is axle tramp the same thing as axle hop?
Do you have the stock 4-link and bushings? Have you considered replacing the stock bushings/upgrading to poly or going with heimjointed and adjustable 4-link arms?
It won't fix the wheel hop.
It might bind with the triangulated four link.
I agree it's time for new bushings and maybe shocks to.
I remember my solid axle S12; It had really nice composure from the lights. My IRS squated like a dog taking a sh$%.
All a panhard does it keep the axle centered from left to right.
Yea, no need for it, stock setup is already a triangulated 4-link.
wouldnt one stiffen the rear even more so?
It could, in a left to right manner, if there's enough play in your stock bushing to allow for the arc of the panhard. But will do nothing for the axle hop.
If you replaced the bushings it should take care of any serious L/R axle movement. If you went to a stiffer bushing; even better. Solid the best, but very un-pleasant.
Your rear solid axle suspension is a good design, it dont need much as far as any more links.
To tell you the truth I wish I still had my solid axle car. And if I did I wouldn't put a panhard on it.
A watts might work with out binding, but like I said the Triangulated links should keep any movement out of it.
One thing you could do is look it to the geometry of the existing link and by moving a piviot piont or two you may be able to stop the hop or even gain mor anti-squat. The GM guys are raising the mounts on the axle, the ones at the center. They sell kits for those guys and they claim to stop the hop.
Here's a link to the GM kit they sell;

Of course yours will have to be custom made.
Also; if you go with a solid bushing that suspension you'll have to go with a spherical type bushing.
