unfortunately, her engine is not orig, she is running an A12 nissan, a 1.5L-gas engine.
her door glass are plastic-glass and not the original ones,

any idea guys if a GA16DNE can be converted to RWD layout, what trany would fit GA16DNE?

thanks Club-S12!

sir If you're referring to the engine, Yes it is a Front wheel drive engine, and can be found here mostly on Sentras,

I am not looking for a powerful nissan engine, I need some daily drive engine, and GA16 series engine are plenty here in Philippines. engine sometime cost around $300-400, SR20DE RWD here is a little costly costs $1200 and thats for the engine only,

So the car is Front wheel drive?

d_k_jose_s12Sep 11, 2009, 4:10 am · #5

no the car is rear wheel drive i dont think that their was ever a fron wheel drive s chassis his asking it the engine from the sentra could converted from a fwd engine into a rwd engine so he can put it into the s12 because the sr engines are way to much money

nismologistSep 11, 2009, 4:11 am · #6

I think it is NOT fwd, he just bought it and it came with a swapped in engine. sr20de would be a sweet choice IMO. but it is pricey...do you have the KA series engines there?

kyskaterSep 11, 2009, 8:53 am · #7

EightySix200SXSep 11, 2009, 9:20 am · #8

I don't if there are any road rules on eastern europ when i saw some frankensteined car
LonelyS12Sep 11, 2009, 8:34 pm · #13

haha god damn talk about a tint job.

pretty cool car coming straight out of the eighties.

seishukuSep 11, 2009, 8:45 pm · #14

A12 huh... Kind of a weird choice.

There aren't any RWD transmissions that I know of that would bolt to a GA, but it probably wouldn't be hard to make an adapter for the trans on the A12.

The other issue, is the distributor. It sticks out of the back of the engine pretty far.

Lol I was just joking. Philippines is not in europe fyi

All windows tinted yeah one of my friends has just been there, that's also a thing that was on a lot of cars. And lot of Jeepney's haha
MaxpowSep 12, 2009, 2:55 am · #18

Got confused with all the FWD RWD talk. Anyways, the Philippines are sick. Your car is sick. I would go with a SR or better even if it costs more... those are some weeny engines that are up for debate.

I really enjoyed reading all of your reply gentlemen.

I am very new to Nissan Engines, got a nissan 5 years ago and it is a B12 Nissan(Sentra, Sunny(US))

for clarification,

my current engine is an A15 is a 1.5L RWD. the original CA20 was replaced by the owner because it blew a month ago.

GA16DNE (ca, from Sentra with ECCS,image posted) is a FWD and I am looking if it can be converted to RWD,

my bumper is a stock silvia and It was modified by the previous owner who is a fiberglass manufacturer by profession.

my door glasses are plastic-glasses and not the original silvia glass. thanks to sir Bigjer, and I found a pair of glasses. hope he can shipp the item to my other friend in Alberta,Canada.

as of now I am looking for these options,

-L20-24 from a Datsun 240Z/260/280ZX
-SR20DE twinside (I hate ECU's and dont have any plan to go turbo)
-RB20/RB26DETT.(If I can robbed a bank lols).

No, not enough power to reasonably move this chassis. Underpowered for the smaller 510's it came in as it is. Pass on it.

-SR20DE twinside (I hate ECU's and dont have any plan to go turbo)
Reliable, peppy, and simple. Modern tech. Wiring is figured out already. A good choice. If you ask me, the *only* choice for your needs. Not that expensive here, I don't know about there.

-RB20/RB26DETT.(If I can robbed a bank lols).
Lots of custom fabrication required... mounts, radiator requires major modification too. Not very expensive, but an SR will be about the same and offer smoother power with hardly any custom changes required.

What wheels are those?
EternalSwapSep 14, 2009, 2:05 am · #22

reading comprehension fail, arro. he wants something cheap, and youre saying a rb is "Not very expensive". I'm sure the L20 will have more power than the A15.
reading comprehension fail #2 for not reading one post behind yours for wheel info.

sir, I dont have any idea of KA series engine, Philippines is a Honda-Toyota dominated engine country, I used to run 4A series with my toyota cars,

@drft-S12, yes sir, those are Enkei 15X7 according to the previous owner, they are superbly lightweight. I am actually running on Work III 5-Spoke.

I agree with your post, SR20 is one of my strongest option, parts have been here for while, unlike the RB and Datsun's L engines,

sir those are Enkei 15X7 the owner claims, I am running Work Ewing III now.

albert, a bit of information if you want to dig into it.

Do a 7A-GE engine in the S12.

7A block (1.8L) GE head from a 4A-GE engine.  Performance oriented instead of fuel efficiency oriented.

I'm fairly knowledgeable about the Toyota engine family.

thanks for your post sir Xano, We have worked before on 7AGE-block-4AG TVIS and HH combination on a 80' Starlet and 90' Corolla respectively, unfortunately, we are not satisfied with its performance and budget it needs to build one, it will be much economical to have a 4AGE 20V Blacktop transplant.
XanoSep 15, 2009, 12:58 am · #28

True, around here, I can get the head itself for cheap, but if i want the entire engine, its quite expensive.  Thats part of why I like the 7A-GE hybrid build.
