hey weve got the engine in, it was an automatic and it came with a prewired harness

were not getting any spart, we switched igniter chips from a different ca and we also ahve the stock harness that came off it

any trouble shooting on important grounds or wires we could have missed

check the coilpack mini harness ground, its on the backside of the #4 cylinder iirc.

all 4 no spark or one no spark?

check to see if you have 12v's key on to each coilpack. if you dont, check for power at the ignitor to try to narrow down any wiring problems. the ignitor is basically a clusterfuck transistor that acts much like a dizzy does in a distriubtor ignition car. so consquently, if no power there than, than no spark.

do you have injector pulse? if you dont have injector pulse as well than the CAS may be bad since it controls both injectors and ignition timing.

Just tell whoever it is your helping out his 18det is fucked and convince him to give it to you for your drift mobile. Problem solved!

read what phisher wrote about 7 times and you should get it

for CAS
First unplug the fuel pump. Remove the CAS (Cam Angle Sensor) from the front of the engine. Its at the front of the exhaust cam. With the CAS plugged into the harness and the key in the "ON" position turn the CAS shaft. Listen for clicking injectors. You can also check the coilpacks for spark this way.

Problem could be CAS but its most likely something specific to the ignition system. Probably some simple wiring gremlin

uh you got a voltmeter or a test light? un plugg each coilpack and on the center pin of the connector there should be 12volts anytime the key is on. thats your power to the coils.
