I have read a bunch of the forums about needing the front driveshaft piece from a 240. Now is that the same if your puting the ca18det into a mark 2 200sx? Or is it based on which tranny you get with your swap? Cause i have an 88 200sx, ca20e + auto trans and would just like to know if i have to buy more parts for the swap.
Thanks Tim

Are you planning to keep it an auto or swap it to a 5speed? A 5speed conversion is pretty intense (swapping pedals, hydraulics, driveshaft, etc) But brewster is right, if you use the S13 tranny you also need the S13 front half shaft. If you keep the original auto, It should be a direct fit with no mods. there's a lot of variations so decide which path is best for you, then post for help.

Im deff gonna convert it to a 5 speed, cause either the autos suck, or the auto in my car sucks. Its a slushbox, lol, but deff gonna go with a 5 speed swap, i did the same to my 85 celica... auto >>> 5 speed swap. Huge improvement.

AMEN!!!!!!! and good luck. If you find a S-12 tranny it's a direct fit, just find a "c" tranny 86.5 & up. this way you can use short shifters, and they're a bit beefier.

the stock s13 trans one is electronic. however, you can use a manual trans mechanical s12 one in the same hole.

ok....for those that have used the front half of a usdm s13's shaft.....uhhhhh does that giant bolt flange holding the yolk not interfere with the tranny???.....I quickly inserted it into my DET trans and the bolts hit it.......

I dont think mine is hitting if it is I'm not noticing it. I drive my car couple times a week, sometimes pretty hard too.

You gotta remove the small round shield at the tail of the trans. Just grab it with pliers and smack the pliers with a hammer.

yah kinda figured this after I googled some trans pics.......*feels dumb*
