alright. so my car refuses to run with the maf sensor plugged in. fires right up and will run great with it unplugged, just cuts out a 2k,which is normal for a MAF being unplugged.

so heres my question:
i have two mafs, one that came with the swap, and one that i picked up from a local guy, who said it was a ca18det maf.

HOWEVER, they have different part numbers on them!

i have a
22680 58a00
afh45-30
wont even run with this one.

and a
22680 58a10
afh45-40
(these are hte numbers on the sensor's themselves)
it tries to run with the second one,but idles all kinds of crazy.
and sounds like its misfiring.

so...what MAF should i be using?whats the number on your guys' sensors? do i even have a correct one?

sweet thanks man. every website i look at has a different number. i did the ridiculous FSM way of testing the maf. hooking it to 12volts then blowing into the sensor. both of them had output voltages way off of the spec. i got 7 volts out of one and 11 out of the other. it should be 1v-2v (IMG:style_emoticons/default/thumbsdown.gif)

thanks man. so i have the right maf.

but heres the new problem. i can hook up the maf, and itll idle, really rough, but it will idle WITH the pipe from the turbo to the manifold hooked up. it seems to even out if i rev it, but then itll die after a rev.

however, if i pull that pipe off, it idles smooth as glass and actually revs pretty nicely..

so wtf?!

well then there's the problem. You already proved that the voltages are waaaay off (assuming it was tested correctly)

I also got the same #'s as Keith on my MAF.
