yes you can remover your breather tube to do a cold air intake.

however, you arent gonna see much gains at all because the 20e uses a flapper style MAF sensor.

and its a ca20e. which is pretty much hopeless for making any kind of power

and this should be in 20e tech? not the coffee shop.

okay. its not completely worhtless. but to someone on a "normal" budget, tryin to make decent power. the ca20e is not exactly the weapon of choice.

its a great engine for driving from point a to point b. mine has been reliable for over 3 years and 35,000 miles without any repairs other than routine maintence. much like a geo engine. but to make any sort of big power out of a 20e powered car you have to either dump hella money,or swap the motor.

didnt the guy with the ca20det even admit he spent way too much money on it?

I'm the owner of said CA20DET & I did spend too much, but now that I know exactly what to do & if it's done properly (ie full rebuild, quality parts, good tune) the cost isn't that much extra compared to any other rebuild. I'm still amazing that the rods haven't bent or the thin cylinder walls haven't buckled, but I'm getting a very reliable 250rwhp & last week I was almost able to match the lap times of an EVO 6 TME.

I'm still convinced a rebuilt CA18DET with the right turbo would equal ro better my engine for power/torque & be stronger with much the same rev happy charecter. I'd be more than happy if someone else copied what I've done, & one day I'll get around to a porper how-to for the hybrid section.

Back on topic. Don't bother persisting with the monocam head & flap AFM. The only worthy part of the CA20E is below the head gasket

a custom air intake job could be ordered from weapon r http://www.weapon-r.com/english/index.php?main_page=page_2 i don't know of there quality, reputation ,or anything else but it would be a aftermarket company makeing a part for a ca20e, although for what your paying and what your geting, it might be a better option to just try your own thing and make your own

what about switching to a 240sx MAF and using a 240sx cold air intake i dont even know if thats posible, just a idea!

I slide my ca20e just fine, nothing an sr can't do but it gets me from entry point to exit point. Not completely worthless.
