Was Planning on a ka24de Swap, But changed my mind and am now getting rid of the Ka and picking up a Ca18DET instead.
Is the tranny mount mod to use the Ca18det tranny the same one as using a ka24de tranny?
Ca18det Tranny In 84 S12?

I beleive you'll have to change the front drive shaft to 86 and up s12 or s13 to get it to fit there is a slight difference in length like literally a fewmm centimeters

The CA18DET came stock in a S12 so just play with what is already available. I think one of the CA tranny mounts that were made available in the S12 stock will work. I know other people will be able to tell you more specifics about the swap. It is a pretty common swap.

you can put the stock mk1 s12 transmission onto the ca18det.

I would be Putting the stock in But My Car Never came With a tranny Or Drive line, So I was Hoping to use the DET Tranny, Guess Ill Just have to See When I throw it in.

the det tranny is about 2 1/2 in longer than the stock S12. and yes, you use the same mod for the DET tranny that you would use for the KA tranny. they are the same tranny, except the bellhousing.
Another option is to make some engine mounts that move the whole assembly up. Then everything bolts right up(thats how mine is). But its your call.

Well now wait just a sec, it depends.. is the CA18DET motorset from an S12 or an S13? I'd guess S13 because of availibility, but...?
S13 CA18DET trans will be the same procedure as the KA24DE trans, and your tranny mount will have to be like the one I have, not like what is pictured in Iggy's thread in case that's what you were referring to.
Just look at my Garage build thread and that should be what you need to fit the trans.
