Okay.. the prices up where I live are abouts:

KA24DE: $400-500
CA18DET: $1150 thereabouts between online and shop sources
RB20DET: $1300 or so same as above

Everything is subject to differences depending on where you look

The other think you need to look at is the other aspects of swaps.  KA is by far the cheapest, CA18DET then RB20DET.  Reason being is that the KA is cheaper to get from the onset ad it's NA so you dont have to worry about the whole turbo setup.  And then the CA18DET after because like the KA, they both practically bolt right in without any work.

I agree on the KA being the cheapest, then the CA then the RB
But in SoCal, the RB is just slightly cheaper then the CA's

I love all three..but what are you trying to figure out, the best swap?
I've heard that the RB is a lot more work, specially if you dont have an SE....

ka-e: free- $10
ka-de: free- $500 for full swap
ca18det: $800-1300
rb20det: $1000-1500

that in my new york/new jersey area.

Posted in wrong section and to keep it on topic. I love them all!

But because you are out of the U.S., your prices may vary from ours very much and a comparison would be of no good to you.

How much are your engines over there?

Sometimes, you can get a KADE motorset with the tranmission included for around $500.  A guy on here in Vegas just did it!  From what I have heard, with some minor mods, you can add a turbo setup to a KA and make even more power.  When it comes time for a swap into my car, I'm going KA.  With the KA being a NA engine, you will get better throttle response as there is no turbo that has to spool to get your power.

If you can afford it and have the time for it, I would go RB.  The Key to this swap is time and $$$.

Just saw you weren't in North America.... so KA24DE from a FWD will NOT work, you need a RWD version, so if that wasn't available in your region, go with one of the other two engines. I would vote for CA18DET

RB isnt all about money if you are dealing with the 20.  It's decently priced.  For now until I can get reproductions made, you are dealing with fabrication/time issues more.

What section should it be in? Hybrid? I'll move it.

Sorry... I put it in General due to how it first was approached but it's more of a Hybrid thread as of now.  Thanks Arro.
