i hate ignition problems. i h8 h8 h8 them
i had trouble before if you guys remember my long ass UGHGHHH thread
i have replaced
COILS
WIRES
PLUGS
DIZZY CAP
DIZZY ROTOR

almost enough of eltrical/ignition replacement pieces
i got DURALASTS. and i think this is why my car is acting funny

ISSUE: when i drive my car, at first, it would kind of hesitate, now, sometimes when i drive harder, my car will cut, and short out it feels like, lights and everything elctrical still work, but the engine is just cutting out, and goes ta ta ta taaahhhhh lmao.
sometimes it doesnt even happen.... it seems to not happen the warmer the engine is?
but i can still max out at rpms, im not limited there

i think its the plug wires
what are those eltric blue ones sterling mentioned?
i see them everywhere
and whats a estimate of cost?

could it be another igition problem?
if so, what BRANDS, are good to look out for, other then OEM

dont ever buy duralast anything.

there front brakes, DO NOT FIT. and there plug wires. seem to blow. i havent tried there clutches, but i refuse too

Silverarrow said the blue ones were NGK, a brand that I would trust.

Here's Bosch, although I can't say I've heard of everyone having luck with the Boschs on CA's before.  I think in the past I remember people having issues http://www.boschautoparts.com/RB.NA.AFTERM...amp;Make=NISSAN
Part # 09415

Bosch's website is slick as hell.

any other brands??

Cool, so you've had good luck with these Keith?

Any that you've had problems with over the years?

DraconisAug 18, 2008, 12:36 pm · #7

I agree.  NGK.  Nissan prefers NGK materials and in some models I think they come stock with them.

Yeah, I had good luck with the NGK's.....I had put them on my new ca18et a few years back.
Brands of wires I had problems with over the years on the ca-et were Split Fire, Jacob's Electronics (spent like $100 on this set  ) , and  Bosch.
For the price of the NGK's you can't beat the performance
jeffwins24Aug 18, 2008, 12:55 pm · #9

or you can try 10MM nology custom made wires...

you say it acts different when it warms up? you better hope it isn't the cylinder head temp sensor >.<

EDIT: yeah my S12 did that she hated being on but once she warmed up is was awesome, turned up to be my CHTS. god that was a pain to change.

ArroMSD.

Wouldn't you need one of these to take full advantage of the msd coil/ wires?

i had ngk plugs on every nissan i ever owned, wires on some. i have the duralast wires now but i think the msd 6al i plan on running might 'max' max them out, there said to need at least a 8mm or bigger and the duralasts are only 7mm, but they were free so i'll try them for now.

brewster240Aug 27, 2008, 10:13 pm · #17

did read much of this, but thought id throw ngk out there again.

ngk is what i use.

I used these:

I'd never heard of em or nothing, so was skeptical. Couldnt find NGK, four stores and 1.5hrs later I ended up with these. The only other ones I could find were Bosh n champions, n I was like, erm... no thanks.

I used my powers as an apprentice working in a shop... LMFAO, and went through my company at NAPA and got the set for $36.xx at cost. Otherwise they're 65$ (And this is canadian dolors, so like 26$ US.. lol

Anyways, If I develop/find any problems with em, I'll let ya know.

(Of course, anythings prolly better than the coil wire arching across to my distrib wires.)

PraizewoodApr 11, 2009, 5:34 pm · #19

MAGNECOR! They look nice hehe. But they are expensive as crazy..

You'll never have a problem with those beldens. They should be 8 mil.
And if you do, lifetime warranty. I bought a set of those for one my probes about 2 days after the blue smooth ones were shipped to my store (I worked at napa at the time). I still have them on it. and this is 6 years later.  Granted it's a winter beater. They haven't given me ANY guff..

I used accel wires my 200 though. 19 bucks for 9 wires (plus another coil wire I had laying around, also accel) And they work great. Carry the ignition well (yeah, very well.......) and can't go wrong for the price. It's just about 10 minutes to make em. tis all

These ones are 7mm. Has all these fancy pics and such on em showing how much better they are than oe and the next brand etc. etc
They're a kinda dark bluish, looks kinda kewl-ish. Its nice to get some colour under the hood and not just a big blob of blackness and indistinguishable wires and such... and they smelled like candy!

You know, i cant rememebre the brand, but they smell like liquorish? These ones had a similar kinda smell... mmmm... I ended up picking sum liquorish up later that night... lol

Are you smelling to everything? I mean stuff besides food? lol

I only noticed cuz one of the guys at the shop pointed it out... I guess you notice things like that when you've changed several thousand sets of wires.. lol

can i run a msd coil on a stock ignition system? also what are the other components that i can upgrade?

a tin pan alleyMay 29, 2009, 1:41 pm · #25

david, can we get an update? did those wires help?

200sxkitcarJun 3, 2009, 3:30 am · #26

yeah, iirc the wires fixed his issue.

You can use the msd coils/wire on stock system, thats totally fine.

Is there any NGK spark plug wires specific to the V6 SE?

not the 300zx one.

LyniumJul 6, 2010, 11:31 pm · #28

Should be able to just go to the parts counter and say, *year *Model *make *ENGINE* and get em.. I think if i can get em for ca20e, then you should have nil probs gettin em for  VG...

I ordered mine based on 2.0L 200sx, and they're still workin just great!

Thought I'd update since its been a long while, my Beldins are doin perfectly fine..  too bad about other parts of the car.. lol

I was wondering.. the blaster coils.. i know theres different resitances in various coils, which can very adversly effect things..
(I only know this from the eagle.. theres only like 2 coils out there that will work aside from OEM because of internal resistance and stuff.. tneds to burn out vertain things and crap.. just 3wondering about our cars, anyone come across such issues???)
