Holy crapppp this thing is FAST. But anyway, what's something to oper her up a ittle bit?

Custom intake? 2.5" catback? What else is fairly cheap and easy?

Wait your asking about mods and don't even have pics up yet fuck that don't tell him anything until he gets up some pics...

PICS OR BAN SNITCHES!!!!!!!

PremoMar 16, 2008, 3:56 pm · #3

i hear taht teh removal of a butt plug will often net you better seating position and response times in teh corners. might wanna try that alex.........

cams are always a good idea. intake, exhaust, up the timing. i have a romulator if you want to change your hp/tq/fuel/timing curves.

and if all else fails you can try what these guys did:

NOOOOOOOOOOOOSSSSSSSSSSSS (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

I think the 2.5 exhaust+cone filter would be a great start. Does this thing have A/C?

PremoMar 16, 2008, 11:26 pm · #6

yea, the AC is still in tact...and works great

EternalSwapMar 16, 2008, 11:55 pm · #7

damn i want an se soooooo bad

sinestroMar 17, 2008, 4:14 pm · #10

yep, the intake and exaust are good for starters, all the basic tune up stuff new wires, cap and rotor, some brand new plugs. then i got a blaster 2 coil and a 6al box to fire it from msd, all the basic stuff has good results on the se, but like i allways say check the timing belt, its a pain in the ass to replace but if it is'nt and its no good its catostrofic to the valve train, had i checked and replaced it first before anything else my v6 might still be running

could even install a neo to maximize the power gains from those bolt on parts

PaulMar 17, 2008, 6:43 pm · #12

KA throttle body, the VG30 TB is 53mm the KA is 60mm and it bolts right up, you have to mill the inside of the intake mani to make it the same size. the TPS swaps over

If you get rid of the a/c them you can make a pretty decent intake, electric fans would also help out a bit

If your gonna do cams you might as well do some mild port work too since you have to take the heads off to remove the cams. they slide out the front of the heads, they hit the rad support when comming out.

but yeah thats where the big power is to be made. im not sure if anone makes a thinner headgasket also since the compression ratio is only 9.2:1 a little bump up wouldnt hurt

I'm doing the 2.5" exhaust with no muffler on thursday at 10:30 am. Fullcat-back for ~$200.No more than $250. Win!

Only 2.5"? S13 KA guys run 3", and they're .6 liters less than you.

Well S13 guys also buy exhausts that are really made for SR20DET models. Do your basics for sure its surprising how much power you can revive just by doing a basic tuneup

I would reference the Z forums on this one, but 3" on the sohc n/a VG might be a bit too much I think. The KA is kinda odd in this regard, working so well with 3" for being a smaller-displacement engine.

A look on the Z forums, shows a mix, some guys do 3", some do 2.5", seems like mandrel is the way to go regardless (when isn't it?)

http://www.z31performance.com/forum/viewto...aust+size+turbo

example of a 3" aftermarket Z exhaust, mainly w/turbo in mind, but also works for n/a.

I'd wait for Premo's opinion on this, as he's had several SE's, I think the last one had a system on it, ? dunno.
