Does the A/C bracket for the CA20E bolt to the CA18DET in the same place?

yes. only concern would be that some aftermarket manifolds (i think side mount) cause a clearance issue between the turbo and the ac compressor.

Ah also the ac compressor ca20 uses a V belt, not a ribbed belt , so the pulley on the ca18det motor won't match your ca20e compressor.
People have tried using a v belt but they just tear apart and same with trying to use a ribbed on the ca20 ac compressor pulley.

I used the ac compressor that came with my motor and just got one end alloy welded on to the front flexible line off the compressor and then evrything bolted up to my s12 lines. Off course I had to get it regassed afterwards.

You can't escape having to purge the old gas and regassing it unfortunately.

Anyone tried putting the CA20E A/C pulley onto the CA18DET A/C compressor?

Big? Small? Something a machine shop could address?

I'll have to re-check.....seems like the hole in the center of the ca20 pulley was smaller than the shaft on the ca=det compressor. You might be able to swap out the pulley bearings though to allow it to fit.
