im about to order a cadet really soon. i plan on doing a complete rebuild to oem specs. im wondering what a rough hp estimate would be with exhaust, intake, and new manifold? im eventually looking for 200-250 hp. im also considering a s-14/15 turbo. will i need new injectors to run low boost?
thanks, ben
Hp Gains?
you don't need injectors to compensate for turbo's efficiancey.
only if your running out of the range of injectors duty cycle typicaly %70 is threshold.
so if you run at stock CA18DET turbo boost range then you have nothing to fear unless your exceeding 12psi.
13~15 sketchy(with tunning should be ok)
all right i was just wondering if i would need injectors to compensate for the larger turbo (more air flow?) however i dont plan on running more than 10 to 12 psi (probably no more than ten actually
you don't need them...
you can get away with afterarket fuel pressure reglator
and air fuel controller, plus tunning
do that or
new injectors, ECU tunning
its matter what you want to do, its all a process.
intial build before transplant or upgrades after swap.
My last dyno tune I made 211 whp @ 13 psi .....mods on mine are Sr t25g, split chamber o2 pipe, 3" turbo back exhaust, front mount ic, intake, walbro 255, and s-afc2...think thats it.
You might want to check the CA section on Nico.....pretty good info on there
I'm shocked how conservative the boost levels and injector duty limits you guys are saying to use. Its common practice to run a T28 at 15psi on 370cc injectors and standard MAF in the UK. I ran my GT2860r at 13.5psi with standard injectors and MAF and a rom tune and got 294bhp at the flywheel (248 at the wheels)
Saying not to run over 70% duty on injectors is crazy. 85% is normally considered safe
