i read in teh crossover parts that for spark plugs use: BCR8's for high boost applications. (gap 0.6-0.8 dependant on boost level)
what is considered a high boost level? 10psi? 15psi? i gapped my pfr7's to .8 and changed my coils to some newer ones and after a week or 2 im having a misfire problem again at 15psi. so i lowerted the boost to 10psi and it wasnt as bad but was still there.......i was also running it with the spark plug cover on, and when i had it off last week there was no issues....
Whats Considered "high Boost" (spark Plugs)
.8 mm might be a little big still. I run .028" not sure what that is in mm I guess around .7 mm. I think .8 is around .031" . I think you might blow that out even on 10psi. if you lower it to .7 and you still have problems I would say its not your plugs. and I think high boost depends on who you ask. high boost to me would be any thing over 20psi .
lol well thats kinda how i felt but then i thought i may be being excessive. im gonna try it tommorow
How do your plugs look? Heat range 8 is probably too cold for 15psi, and they are probably fouling out. Stock heat range is 6, and on Nico they say to use a 7 for "high boost". I'm currently using 6's @ 15psi on a t25g, with no probs....over the summer I used 7's @ 15 with no probs......when I pulled them last week, they were almost as clean as when I put them in several months earlier. A bunch of people on Nico said they had problems with 7's fouling out....but mine stayed clean.
Another possibility......you had mentioned you had the problem with the cover on, and no probs with the cover off? Your coils maybe getting too hot with the cover on causing the issues.
today i had the cover off right from the cold start in the morning and it was still misfiring, then i re-gapped tonight to .71mm and it's been fine so far.....ill update if anything else changes
and the plugs are ok. the contact is clean but the outer edge of the plug is black. they seem have always been like that since i got this motor. ive changed the spark plugs more times than ive changed the oil.
