so after an afternoon of 15-20psi, my tranny seems to be shifting harder, and sometimes it will grind as im letting off the clutch. its already in gear when it does this. any ideas?

my setup is as follows
ca18det
stock tranny
SPEC stage 3 clutch
lightweight flywheel

the clutch is only about 1000kms old.

could be the throwout bearing.

but also, check the gear oil..screw it. change it.

throwout bearing was replaced with the clutch. the fliud was also just changed and shockproof lightweight gear oil added

was the oil GL-4 compliant? if you put a synthetic oil in there you may have issues. anymore, you can't find an oil thats Just GL-4 (least i couldnt). all i was able to find was GL-4/GL-5.

never heard of shockproof...time to search..

Redline WebsiteLightweight ShockProof®

A unique gear oil designed to lubricate racing transmissions and transaxles which see serious loads (not recommended for most syncro-type transmissions). It has excellent low-temperature flow which allows easier shifting when cold. May be used to obtain maximum power transfer in racing differentials which do not see high temperatures. Similar to a 75W140 gear oil, but with the lower internal friction of an SAE 30 motor oil.

Used in most road-racing differentials with moderate power and dogring racing transaxles.

that worries me a bit..

thats weird....its shifted better ever since i put it in. my mechanic also used it in his tuned audi a4 and now his insane golf....
