Hey guys,

I went and picked up my new Gazelle, arrived home pulled on the handbrake (it was reallyyy stiff) as high as it would go and it went up and just then basically flopped down when i undid it, and from that point the wheels were basically locked on my driveway! so i was at 4 grand in reverse going back... hmm got the wheels off pulled the things on the disc back and it loosened them up a little but i can still feel it is on, how can i permantly disable the handbrake from grabbing for the moment till i can offord to fix it?

Thanks for any help

sounds like you overtravelled the cam on the parking brake mechanism (these are the rear disk, right?). i don't know if there's an easy way around this.

i had this same problem (twice!) while replacing my rear calipers. you might be able to force the cam back by putting a wrench on the nut that actuates the cam on the caliper (did this once). apply too much force and this might wreck the whole mechanism. the second time i took the whole caliper and rotor out and partially disassembled the cam to reset it.
