Anyone know what the CFM rating of the T2 is at 1 BAR?

they say that the t2 is capable of "304 cfm max". They also state that a t25 is capable of "405 cfm max". This max factor (as explained above in the webpage itself) is not measured at 1bar of boost pressure.

wow, a small 16g at 520cfm at 1bar (assuming good efficency of course)....I like it. icon_cool.gif

hmmm ... see, I've read that the T2 "maxes" out at 8 psi. But I can say from experience the T2 makes way more power at 12 + ...

But, if we go by the "max" the S12s fuel system runs out at 304cfm of boost.

and that makes ~200hp ...

On a T25 ... that means we should be running out of fuel at around 11 - 12 psi.

T25 guys is this true?

T28 is only a 448?

Hardly an upgrade over the T25 ... but should be fueled up to 10 psi

How much would porting change that do ya figure?

Maybe I'm reading the compressor map wrong, but it looks like that 16G runs out at 1 bar (2 PR = 1 Bar)

look at the JWT 650 sport turbo, it will bolt up to the stock manifold and flow enought for 325hp. What do you think?

if your pockets are deep enough

I like my turbos in the used ~$100 variety.

porting is going to change the spool characteristics of the turbo more than anything else. Sure, top end exhaust flow will be improved some, but I would say a maximum change of ~25 cfm for a really hogged out port job. if that, most of the performance difference is in the spool.

the t28 isnt that much larger over the t25 but with the ball bearing one with ceramic wheels you will spool so fast it will be like having the t2 on your car again with the flow of the t28...

anybody got a link to a page that explains how to read a compressor map? I saw one in a turbo magazine once but it's slipped my brain at the moment.

BTW is that 520 cfm generated at 150,000 rpm?

ok nevermind just saw the root site.

Hey not to steal this topic but what about that ecu tuning part, think it could be any help to us?

right now it's just hurting my brain ... someone should make sure Ron sees this, he'd probably know best. I don't think we've even figured out if our ECUs have EPROM chips. The MkIIs might.
If they do, I'm going to look further into this.

same here and i have a mkII so maybe there is a chance, with this and a MAP instead of the MAF the ca20e could stick with its current ecu and wiring
