You all know what i mean by sleep eyes, where your pop up headlights dont close all the way they stay open a tad, im curious whats involved in doing this? I'm assuming its simple but ??? Cuz i think it would look tight on my 200

Sleepy Eyes
there are adjustments for how hight the headlights pop up, I sure if you crank them back they will only pop up part of the way.

another way is to use the lamp change button that pops the lights up so you can change them... just turn it on/off till you get the right height for the sleepy eyes.. takes a litle practice and then its easy.. thats what i have been doing

I'd like to go all out liek that, but what i had in mie for the immediate future, was i want them to open fully, but have them not close all the way down, giving the sleepy eye's look when the lights are off. Any ideas how?

Just wondering if anyone has heard of these pivot headlight controllers..............http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2434751530&category=38655
I'm just curius, it says its universal, and it list's the240sx for example, it seems just to be plug and does this mean it'll work on our 200's?

Mimms...give this a try.

It gives you an idea of what to do. The wiring may or maynot be the same.

Well boyz and Girls, I've done it, my 200 has Lazy Eyes. All i had to do was get at the wires behind the light change button, snip'd the pink wire on the go down side fo the button, istalled a switch relayed into the wire. So now i raise them up, so when i hit the button and they start to go down i flick by switch and they stop at the desired height... very nice. Thx westside for the link in the right direction icon_smile.gif

anyone know how the stock headlight know it's down all the way? is there a contact switch in the down position? torque limit on the motor?
gimmie a week, i'll need to get my pics developed, no digi..... but yea it was pretty simple. Here some instructions...
-Pull your headlight up/down switch from the dashboard, disconnect the conntector, then you'll have to take the plastic plate from under the steering colum out in ordert to get the the wire the plugs attached to.
-You'll see 4 sets of wires, a brown 2 reds and a pink, i went for the pink i think its the wire for the down side of the button. Cut it, wire in a 2 way switch. Then to test to see if it works, plug everything in, then hit the headlights up switch to the lights raise up, then hit the other side to make em go down, when there at the correct height you want em at as there lowering, hit the new switch and it should stop em where they are.
Its pretty much the same way as the link instructed westside put up.... Hope that helps i'll have pics up eventually.

I have manged to do the sleepy eyes effect. But i did it a different way. On the switch inside the car that lets you put the lights up without them being on. I simply forced it in the middle between off and on. Then i popped my hood and took the caps of the two motors and twisted the the little nob till they are exactly even.
(My lights don't pop up and down evenly, my right goes down quicker than my left.)
(Sorry about the shitty picture)

Drifter my left pop-up is a tad slower then the right, if i just adjust em like you did will they raise and lower at the same time?

nut. The cunts reset themselves once you make them go up fully up. I think that one of our motors are stronger than the other maybe? Which is why one comes up before the other.
It looks mad when you get it done right.
Do use the switch technique? Or have you wired it up spearately?
How come my pictures don't load too?

I wired a kill switch into the Up/Down headlight switch that doesnt turn the actual bulbs on, so i turn them on, then turn them off and then hit the kill switch to stop them where i want them when there coming down....

The video works, you just need the newest DivX codec. Now you don't need to go hunting for one because of that video, you're not missing that much. It's just a slight vid of me opening and closing the ligts slowly into different levels....or something like that, difficult to explain.
The way it works is the funniest thing icon_biggrin.gif
I didn't do ANYTHING: icon_biggrin.gif
When I turn on the marker lights (middle position in the light switch) and snap on the high beam flash a couple times (yes, just VERY slightly), the lights only go up a slight bit. That means if I want to flash my high beams when the lights are down, I have to hold the lever back until the lights are fully up. But that on the other hand allows me to set the sleepies very easily icon_biggrin.gif

And yes, Chris...it does make the car look a bit stoned icon_smile.gif
Depends on how high or low the lights are set. I also still have the grey part in the bumper down there and I don't have the plastic cover on the left light, so the whole thing looks a bit funny.
But I'll most likely get the engine back in my car quite soon so operation bumper modifying will start. Gotta get some air for this one:
