Hey All

I dont know if the clock is the same all around the world, but mine is in an australian 85 Hatch. It is digital and only seems to work at times. It will come on then 2 min or less later it will be off. I have checked all fusesand wiring is visibly ok?

What can i do?

Thanks

Matt

Buy a watch and tape it to the dash

If you can find a good one in a junker, that clock is really easy to replace. You just pry out the trip piece surrounding it, remove two screws and it comes right out. The only concern is that, if it's like the US models, the 87 and 88 models came with a slightly different clock where the numbers light up against a dark backround, rather than the light background and black numbers of the earlier models. I don't think you can go from the earlier type to the later. You can go from the later to the earlier, but it won't light up.

Dude! I got a clock, what year is your car and stuff? It's out of a A-model (pre-86) notchback SE I found at the junkyard and stripped the crap out of. The A model clock I have displays with orange square block dots and has an alarm in it. I was going to swap it with the clock in my vg30e SE B model, but I don't have a wire run for the other functions this clock does.
Cost: Shipping plus a favor. I want to buy some aussie stuf I just need someone to find it. I got a few other things if you're interested. Se the for sale forum.

Yeah, pretty much. Like I said, I swapped an '84-'86 clock into my '88. The alarm works and so does the timer function, the only thing there is no wire for is the illumination.
I just scored a whole back of small orange LED's with angled mountings. I may try to mount 2 or 3 on the bezel around the clock to cast light on the clock.

I dremeled out the orange plastic, so I have this cool looking techno blue as my clock display. (Freakin' bright at night when the linterior ights aren't drawing power though)

Make S12 fast and hot. Use to fry rice. Repeat.

That sounds kewl...doesn't work for me though since I went with orange for the interior highlights.

I went to the junker to get a replacement clock. I bought 3 for 3 bucks as he had 3 s12's lieing around, only 1 worked.
