I've been browsing this site for awhile now. I'm a CA18DET powered s13 owner, but I've been a big fan of s12's for awhile. Turns out there was a red s12 hatch up the street from me on blocks I'd been eyeing for the past few months. It was on blocks and looked kinda sketchy, but I finally went door to door at the appartment to figure out who's it was yesterday. Turns out it belonged to some old asian lady who said some kids jacked her wheels. When I asked how much she wanted for it, she said she didn't know. I offered $200 and she said SURE! Anyway, i'm going to put my wheels on it and have it towed back to my house later tonight, but I'll be sure to post some pictures! Other than faded paint, the thing is MINT. No cracks on the dash, no rips or tears in the seats, and the engine bay is very clean. No rust ANYWHERE on the car (even under the spoiler). I'm SOOOOO happy right now 8-) i just need to find a twin cam KA to throw in there and call it a day (I need a daily driver, the s13 is going to become a beast!) Here's afew pics of the s13, there are more on my website www.ca18det.org

Anyway, welcome.......and nice S13

Congrats on your find! Nice S13 too. It's nice to hear about an S13 owner with respect for the S12.

Wow, good work on saving an S12! It's good to know it's in the hands of a Nissan enthusiast now, it will finally be brought back to the greatness that it once was.

I was reading through your website too, and I didn't see any mention of the CA18DET being released in 1987 as the factory engine in the JDM S12 when the FJ20ET was phased out. ;) Good bit of history to know.

Nice looking engine bay there. Is that a half finished additional injector setup there?

haha yeah i got the pipe off someone's CA clip because its larger than the stock pipe (and i'm running an ARC sidemount so i needed stock shaped piping). i might put a greddy rebic or something on there to controll it eventually!

and i live in orlando. i'm a UCF student!

thanks for the kind welcome guys, and I will defintatly spend time on here as well as NICO. that place is DEAD as far as s12 stuff 8-)

man you hit that nail right on the head! are you from around central florida?

and damn that silvia grill is pretty sweet... where do you find stuff like that? for s13 stuff I almost always hit up ebay, but I have not found any cool s12 stuff on there! are there any shops specializing in s12 aftermarket parts?

sorry to sound like a noob, i'm not usually this car-retarded...

Man........I'm good! I'm from Destin....in the panhandle, but I lived in Brandon for 4 years, which is just east of Tampa. I was always in Orlando, and Winter Park.....and thought the houses in your pics looked like that area. I just moved out to CA last year.
I got the grille badge off of Ebay from someone in Australia. I found out afterwards these are very rare as they only came on the CA-DET powered S12s......so I was pretty stoked!

allright picture time! haha, damn it looks more like crap because of the night lighting, and the condensation... i'll have to get some daytime pictures after i wash/wax it tomorrow :) (oh and it goes without saying, I won't be driving it with spare tires on the front, I just needed to move it as it was on blocks and the spare tire in the s12 and s13 trunk was all I had for wheels...)

here goes:

Well, she needs some help, there's no doubt about that. But you've got a great base to start with. I might be biased, but I really like Hot Red. :)

It looks very similar to mine, right down to the power nothing, and auto tranny...very nice find, and for 200 how could you go wrong??? 8)

I haven't said anything till now, so hello and welcome to our gang. I'm glad to see an S13 guy who went with a CA18DET instead of following the crowd and the SR20DET. All things considered, I've more or less decided the CA18DET is the best all-around engine for the S12 chassis as well.

But since you already have a CA18DET powered Nissan...

YOU should try the FJ. You're up for it based on your experience with the S13 swap, I think you can adjust to it's bone-jarring engagement. It's a proven platform, too.

I bet you can find them pretty cheap actually. What do you think of my suggestion? ;)

you find me an FJ and i'd love to throw it in there! i've had little to no luck finding any motorsets though :( I also have a low mileage KA that I pulled from the s13 looking for a new home, and I think a nice torquey motor in the s12 would be sweet. Let me know what you can find an FJ for and I'll certainly check it out! (and I know bone jarring... lol I'm sporting a 4 puck carbon/kevlar unsprung race clutch on the CA18DET!)

thanks for the kind welcome everyone! I'm spending so much time looking through your suspension section and the brakes section, trying to figure out what to do in those departments first, once I get the CA20E running again!
