YES YES YES I have finally gotten the time to put my new KA24DE back together and get her started, started on the 2nd try (retarded me forgot to hook up the power to the starter lol )
Gotz new goodies this time too, CAI, and a Hotshot header, and turbo hood scoop so the valve cover can clear the hood. sounds damn raunchy without no exhaust....prolly will go to the exhaust shop this weekend get the exhaust rewelded on, and get Ins back on it...
NEXT WEEKEND, THE TRACK HERE I COME....I'm aching to know what the 1/4m will be on this car!!! CHEEWHOOOO

Indeedy, how much torque to the KA make? Should be a fair ammount.
KA24DE wouldnt be bad for drift/track!
Torque - 152nm @ 4,400 r.p.m.
hp - 140hp @ 5,600 r.p.m.
Whats the redline on ther KA?
The red line I think is 6500, or 7000
Probably more like 6500, KA's are major torque monsters, but don't really like the high revs much.
On a somewhat related note, I had a KA24DE bare block in the shop sitting next to a 22R Toyota. All I can say is WOW. They look like long lost twins. Only thing is, the KA's got oil squirters and a main girdle built in to the caps! I really don't see why more people aren't building these little beasties!
Glad to hear it's running again! :banger:
I wouldn't be surprised if it went up higher than that ... the KA SOHC in my friend's S13 didn't hit the limiter until really close to 7,000 and it liked living up there too.
SLEEPN, that thing should move and move well. I can't wait to see how it does!!!
People don't build KA/KAT's for 2 valid reasons
ring lands are too high for turbo application
oil passageways like to get clogged
What they don't understand is these issues are addressed for a whole lot cheaper than importing a motor.
oil passageways like to get clogged
Ah, so that's what causes all the spun rod bearings! I see. I've sure seen a bunch of em lately with spun bearings. Most likely that's what's wrong with the one I got...
uh hey guys.....I've done the swap before, I kinda blew the old motor....
some of u guys makin it sound like I havent driven the car b4 with this motor...
IT was done almost a year ago, and up until 2months ago I blew it....
and yes the freakin thing has some mean torque to drift with, I just havent had the chance to go to driftsession yet.
Redline is @ approx 6800rpm and makes 140hp.
