This is some small and crappy vids of me (Neb...duh) and FLYPSI drifting. The Oran Park vids are my first ever drift day and the Eastern Creek figure 8 circuit (the little tiny one) is my second drift day and FLYPSI's first.
FLYPSI video'd the Oran Park stuff on his little digi so there is no sound. We hope to get better (in skills and video quality) in future but for now i think these are some of the only S12 drifting vids i have seen (seen some home vid footage of S12s drifting in japan in mid 90s too)
The electric blue car with gold on it is me and the two tone is FLYPSI, we are both SR20DET powered with S13 coilovers up front but FLYPSI is on an open diff which really lets him down alot :(

Awesome, there is nothing like an S12 going sideways...I just wish I had sound right now...:(

Awesome... Really nice work.

I wish I can start drifting my S12 but I need a new engine, transmission, and LSD.

I just really need a reliable source for really cheap tires!

Nebuchernezzerdate not saved · #7

Most of those vids don't have sound cos they were off a still camera with the video function, it has no mic :(
You can get almost worn out tyres for nothing easily, tyre shops have to pay to get rid of all their old tyres, you can get em for free no probs, just ask a few :) You might need more rims cos the tyres dont last long but at least you can get good sizes like 16s etc free. I plan on having 8 spare 16" rims anyways, i already have 4 16s and 8 14x6.5s

yeah, I have no tracks around here, but I do have a huge parking lot with only two stores, a Wal-Mart, a Home Depot, and a bunch of bed/baths. Anyway, do you think there's any chance a store'd give me some cheap, old wheels? I only have one set of stockers.

Spooled.....it might seem like the best thing to get cheap ass tires for drifting but u ask any D1 drifters and they think its better to dish out the money. Espeshially for front tires as you do need a certain anmount of grip for drifting.

Nebuchernezzerdate not saved · #10

It is true that D1 level guys NEED good tyres and that any competant drifter should be using somthing decent on front and rear. However as a general beginner (i have been to 2 drift days so far) cheap tyres to get alot of experience on is the best, Tsuchiya Keiichi reckons use cheap tyres to start off with, smog around on them, have a ball then go to somthing better when you need to.

The one vid that has sound all you hear is screeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee of the tires so you aren't missing too much

Cool vids though

Yeah rubber on concrete isn't a nice noise, at Oran Park (the ones with no sound) all you can hear is the engine when you are out there, it's much cooler :).

That and the sound of a truck eer i mean SR engine trying to rev. It needs the sweet sweet sound of the CA http://www.club-s12.org/board/images/smilie/pimpflash.gif :boobs:

I just really need a reliable source for really cheap tires! Try your local auto wrecker. Up here $16.50 each mounted and balanced with over 70% tread! :)

Indecisivedate not saved · #17

go to a local tire shop

you can get their old stuff for hella cheap.

geoffdonkdate not saved · #18

hella? inde man... ggrrr i gotta get my car back on the road though. i see people drifting meanwhile im bumming rides to school.

Under_Controldate not saved · #19

Neb thats was awesome man. My heart was pounding as you were flying through this one corner.

Hopefully my car will be lsd equipped by november and ill try to get a vid of my s12 at the next drift event.

Why doesnt someone sticky a thread named "s12 drifting vids" and everytime we post a vid up a moderator can just put the vid in that thread under the members name.

s12's are very rare over here and no one has one. only myself so i definately wanna represent!! :)

Sounds good to me, i could post one or two more vids of me losing it i think haha. Need to get some good vids of us aussie drifters out on a nice track like Oran, i've done some more suspension and engine setup and stuff since then to so that should help me along with some experience :).
