Damn thats one green S12, nice!

Just get some matching white rims for the rear and lower it a bit and your set!

myth_S12date not saved · #6

Wow, your Member name matches your car... Nice.

btw... Welcome to the forums.

Nebuchernezzerdate not saved · #7

Nice paint, just needs to sit level and maybe the profile on your tyres needs to be higher to match the original rolling diameter, looks like it's a little small as it sits giving you 'mini wheel syndrome' :P
Looks sweet tho, SR in gazelle goes good as a few people around the forums can tell you. Have fun :)

200SXXEnotchbck86date not saved · #8

Will never lose that in the parking lot. I think the black rims look better on it.

Radracer_Sdate not saved · #9

:yikes: ur the 1st that I've seen do this. Well then again japanese members do other things too.

toxicdate not saved · #10

thanks for the feedback guys...
I put the other rims on the back today with a bigger tyres (215/45/17) and it sits much nicer and fills the guards much better so now i just have to change the front tyres. The tyres on the front are 205/40/17 and yes i agree are too small. They came on the rims when i bought them.
More pics up tomorrow....

You've got good taste in colours ;)

[edit] if Photobucket wasn't being a tart, you'd all get that ...

geoffdonkdate not saved · #12

what did that cost you? are the door jambs and shit done too?

toxic indeed though.

Well considering 2/3 of the S12's here aren't working properly/at all, I doubt that the TOAD syndrome is going away soon. Hopefully is will, but the future doesn't look bright right now...:|

life's looking good. i have my car booked in for a paint job on october 25th, got a ca18det comming in somewhere in the spring and shit, everything's in it's place. i just gotta start posting again :P.

gerrybgdate not saved · #16

Just looking at the seats and bumpers on your 'kaeru', (means frog in Japanese), beast. They indicate its a Japanese import, what motor has it got in it??

Correct!
Its a ca18... but not for long...

It didnt cost me much to paint it as im a spray painter. Just the cost of the paint. Inside the bonnet and boot are done but i havent done inside the doors yet as ive been lazy, im leaving the engine bay white.

Those pics are heaps better! Plus with the white wheels back on it looks hell shmick ;-)

Get some lowered springs front and back and it'll look very nice

Shame you live so far away, would be awesome to see how fast a ca18et s12 goes!

shanedate not saved · #20

looking good when you pull the ca18et let me know i might interested in buying it from you just to be different

SHEPPO3930date not saved · #21

man thats insane....................i like your thinkin, needs a CF bonnet, lol..... nah just kidding, it needs to be dumped on those 17's to get rid of the mini wheel syndrome, and then she'll look mad. i agree, you wont eva loose that in the parkin lot, i bet it's even bright when its night time, hahahaha good job, its nice to see somthing different.

catch ya

Hughdate not saved · #22

DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMMMMMMMMMMNNNNNNNNNNNN TOXIC!

Nice car man.....like.....wow!

I'm in local Aderaide too.....hope to see your shindig of a car around!

When u lift that CA18ET of yours i might be interested in buying it ;)

P.S. - I'm looking at painting my car too.....if i got u to do it how much would i owe ya?

toxicdate not saved · #23

Well i guess the paint did what i wanted... it got attention... but from the wrong people!
Its now on DEFECT

1) battery not clamped properly
2) oil leak (its power steering fluid from a split in a boot but he didnt care)
3) wheels not standard (i asked how big they could be and he said he didnt know but i should ring regency and ask if he is right... yeah thanks buddy)

I asked how long do i have to drive it on defect ( normally 2 or 3 days for a minor defect) he gave me 1 hour. home and thats it!

SHEPPO3930date not saved · #24

we get 7 days from the minutethe defect is written......... minor defect that is, like being too low, or too loud. No matter how clamped your battery is, aussie pigs will always get you for a loose battery, whats with that? I am making a big shields on both sides of the engine bay (between popup light and tower) to cover the battery, bottles, pod, IC piping, etc, so constable plod cant see anything! and when he asks for it to be removed, i say i got no tools and u need the special 5 star screw drivers to undo the special bolts....well thats the idea anyway!

Hughdate not saved · #25

Damn thats not what you wanna hear from a cop.....so sorry to hear that.

I'd hate to be defected....my car would never leave regency in the state it is now.

salps12date not saved · #26

Damn that sucks!

I swear you can have aftermarket rims that are 2 inches bigger than factory. In my case thats 16' as the car came with 14' stockers wth mad hubcaps :werd:

But this is NSW law saw its probably alot different from yours.

gerrybgdate not saved · #27

Here, (Qld) the law is that you are allowed bigger rims, but you must have lower profile tyres so that the diameter overall, i.e. complete wheels and tyres, is the same for the standard wheels and taller wheels. It should be the same in SA as well. So with the profile tyres you have now you should be safe on that one, but give them a ring and let us know what they say.
I've sent you an email re lowering suspension ideas and a brake upgrade for your car that will be good but won't cost you a packet.

Gerry

gerrybgdate not saved · #28

Also forgot to say if you drop a ca18det into your beast you could almost get away without mod plates, inspections etc couldn't you?? As you already have a ca18et, as in a ca18 turbo. Don't know about SA though, have heard they are real nazi's. You poor bastards in Qld we almost do what we like comparatively speaking.

SHEPPO3930date not saved · #29

in victoria, you are allowed the plus 2 rule, that means 2 inches bigger in diameter, and one inch wider than stock. The S12 came with 15inch alloys as an option, that means me can have 17inch rims legal, no ifs no buts, LEGAL! but for daily driving and drifting 17inch on very low pros isnt practical where i live as there's too many potholes to dodge, farkin VicRoads needs to clean up the streets! So its 16's for me, that look big enuff anyways.

BUT! back to the paint job... you do it yourself?

Nebuchernezzerdate not saved · #30

In NSW you can have any size rim you like provided the outside diameter is the same (your profile actually looks to small, i think it should be a bit higher to get the right OD). Width is based on how heavy the vehicle is, below 1200kg then you can go 1" wider, about 1200kg you can get 2" wider than stock.
Doing your own paint prep saves cash :D
Although doing the whole lot would have saved you all the labour fees which i imagine is 90% of the cost.
I did the prep on my gazu and the paint was a cashy by a mate of my dad. $900 all up in the end for the lot, incl materials etc.

toxicdate not saved · #31

The tyres on the back are 215/45/17 and are exactly the same size overall as the standard wheels. Im going to change the front one's to the same and ring up and see what happens.
The paint job cost me under $500 for a full 2pac respray so im rather happy

sr20 update... I found out that i can put a sr20det in my car and all i need to change is the brakes to pass regency.

Under_Controldate not saved · #32

wtf?

Over here in the states there are lincolns/caprices with like 26 inch rims. and you guys cant have more then 2 inches from stock?crazy...

Hughdate not saved · #33

True u can pass regency....but if your on insurance thats another story.....

For insurance to cover any new motor is must not go over the stock Litre (so for the CA20 its 2L, for CA18 its 1.8 and so forth).... You will also need a engineers certificate stating that it has been professionally installed and inspected....this is with AAMI anyways (a.k.a Annoying Ass Munching Idiots)

Mr.200date not saved · #34

I am never ever going to complain about Ontario safety standards inspections again *lol*

I thought we had it tough because all 4 tires have to be the same brand and size at the time of inspection.

Hehehehe

Besides, you only have to have it inspected once (when plating the car) and even those inspections are easy to get.

Anywho, for the record, the TOAD is not going FJ6 (that's the code for Go-Green) ... the TOAD will be black. It's the Bully that's green ;)

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/mr200/200sx/72FJ6.jpg

I thought about painting the S12 to match ... but that just reminded me too much of lame couples that dress the same.

But mind you I do enjoy cruising around in the Bully picking on other cars that feel they can wear FJ6 without some kind of retaliation.

So far I've come across a CRX, Prelude (square gen), 86, MKIII Supra, MR2 ... all wearing FJ6.

And for me, that was a factory available color ;)

That Gaz looks great though ... maybe the Bully needs 17 inch white rims ... hmm

Alex Frostdate not saved · #35

All you need to do would be to paint the ones that you just picked up...but I am not sure how it would look with white rims, and the rest of the car black...

Mr.200date not saved · #36

Hehehe ... those rims won't fit the Charger ;)

They've got a (dirty) polished lip already, so they're in for soda blasting and polishing (free) then graphite paint for the centers.

And locking wheel nuts. If I lose a second set of rims, I'm going to jail ... guaranteed.

I bought those about 10 minutes after the rims *lol*

Black car + graphite rims with polished lip = hot sex

Whoops I mis read that...I thought you meant painting the newly acquired rims white, and putting them on the 200, not the charger...

Yah those rims would definitely not fit the Charger...one hole short...8)

toxicdate not saved · #38

Hey... this is my thread... not the charger thread!
