On low boost (9.5 psi) ... 15.61 @ 91.6 MPH
i don't remember what the 0-60 was

I spun it pretty bad launching (had to let off the gas a little bit or 1st gear would've been done!)

i tried to make a high boost run. I had a good launch with little wheel spin and it was going really good but when 3rd came around the clutch said :finger: and started slipping horribly.

i am quite with the performance though :)

What Mods do you have done to your car? and was this with a g-tech pro?

Johnnyfivedate not saved · #3

Yes the pro. Here's the mods affecting the engine.

Volvo Radiator and I/C.
2.5 in. intercooler piping
3 in. turbo back exhaust with high flow cat
MSD SS Blaster coils
NGK iridium spark plugs
Magnecor spark plug wires
Greddy Profec B spec II boost controller
1G DSM BOV
Walbro 255 LPH fuel pump wired to the ignition.
Engine fan replaced with electric fan.
T25 from either a 300ZX or JDM S13.
open element air filter.

man you need to gut the cat it opens up the top like crazy.. eventhough its a high flow unit

If I had my choice I would run the thing off the downpipe but alas that cannot be reality in a communist state. I wanted to pass emissions without having to pay someone so I forked the cash for a high flow. That and the shop wouldn't do it unless i either had one for them to put on or I bought one of theirs

bummer then you need someone or yourself to make a test pipe..

15.6? hmm...

do you normally boost 9 psi? or do you take it up?How much horsepower you think your making at the wheels?

Johnnyfivedate not saved · #8

9 is low i use that when cruising around town then when I want to kick ass I put it on high. I tried to make a run on high. read the post to see why....

Maximum sustained boost is 14 it has spiked to 14.8. i can't run anymore until I crush my BOV.

At that boost level I estimate around 130-140 hp on high I think 160 isn't a bad conservative estimate. not bad what little I've actually done to the car. The quarter time is a full 1.5 seconds faster than stock.

i meant it in a goodway ;). with only 9psi 15.6 is a good time id say. with the 14 psi i think you should be in the low 15's / high 14's.

sschungdate not saved · #10

sounds about right. i was 10psi @ 15.3 @93mph. mods are similar.

i'm not really interested in GTECH times :disgust:
Ever take it to the track?

Johnny,

with a 91 mph trap speed you should easily be getting 14.9 ET's

Its all in the 60' time (launch). I'm guessing you had a 2.4 or so?

As a rule of thumb, for every .1 you take off of your 60' time it will equal .15 reduction in ET.

So say you took your 2.4 down to a 2.0 you would drop .6 off your ET!

Hmmm... recently I got a 15.3 at 92.1. I do have some pretty cheap street tires. I'll keep working on the launch then. Maybe it'll improve. I'm also running lean at high RPM.

one_equals_twodate not saved · #14

Bringing up a thread that's really old, but since most people don't understand how the G-Tech works...

The reason the mph is so much higher than you would expect from the ET is because of the way the G-Tech measures trap speed. The G-Tech measures the vehicle's instantanous speed as it crosses the 1/4 mile. At a drag strip on the other hand, the trap speed is taken by averaging your speed over the last 60 feet. Since the strip uses an average speed, it will be slower than the G-Tech trap speed (unless you like to cruise off throttle before you cross for bracket racing reasons).

Comparing your runs to some that I have done in the past, you could definitely lose some time with better tires, but a 15.3 @ 92.1 is really good. When I got the 14.99 run on the G-tech, I had a trap speed of 99mph (and since you're running a T25, I'm sure you could beat that with a good set of tires).

and a better fuel ratio.... I lean out at high boost starting at 4500 RPM going to 14.7 by 5500 RPM.
