That is 1251.9kg before he took out 69.8kg to get a 1182kg car for anyone who doesn't know a lbs from a bar of soap (ie aussies and new zealanders)
My car tipped the weighbridge at 1340kg (2954lb) with me in it and a full tank of fuel and spare tyre, jack etc. So about 1260kg (2777lb) without me in it but still with probably 40kg (88lb) worth of stuff that could be chucked out of it. My car is fat :(
wow s12 is heavier then i thought my z31 weighs 1420 kgs
yea these aren't light cars
Or rather mine would be light if it didn't have power windows, power mirrors, power sunroof etc
Probably drop a good 200kg without all those heavy electric motors and glass.
1182kg (2606lbs) IS a light car these days though you know.
yea these aren't light cars
ahh beg to differ.. the s13,s14,s15 are all heaveier.. z31 z32 z33 all way heavier.. these are actually quite light cars..
Yeah S13's are way heavier. When we had the race car, keep in mind that it was totally gutted, but had a full chrome-moly 1 3/4" NASCAR style rollcage in it, but it only weighed in at around 2500. The S13's I raced against we all at LEAST 2700-2800.
We might be heavy compared to a 2000 lbs CRX... :honda:

Z32 Twin Turbo is ~3600lbs... I think I've seen like 3700lbs with fuel and driver...
Here is something to think about...

That cars is basically NOTHING, and it STILL weights 1975lbs empty. 2600lbs for an S12 isn't bad... considering its all made of steel... =( If it had aluminum panels, i.e. hood, doors, hatch... it might be a touch light... same if they had used technology more available today, like on the newest Nissans for suspensions... but then again, if that was the case, the S12 would be a NEW car, not an old one. I don't think that weight is all too bad!
Another FYI...
That Lotus has a Power to Weight Ratio of 10.56lbs/hp.
My Z32TT, which dyno'd 335hp (403hp crank) would have a 8.93lbs/hp PtWR.
A 200HP S12... would be 13lbs/hp. 300hp S12 would be 8.67lbs/hp. ^_^
Hmm... maybe a Z32 is a little lighter... here is one guy's Z
http://www.streetneeds.com/uploads/twinturbonet/timzweight.jpg
3401lbs... his Z had put down 494rwhp @17psi (94 octane untuned) and 567rwhp @21psi (94 octane untuned). How's that for PtWR. ^_^
When I had mine weighed a year ago, it was 2620 lbs with 3/4 tank of gas.
Holy crap ... my Charger only tips the scales at 3,800lbs
Hell, the Challenger is 3,600lbs
those Z32s are piggies!!!
so has anyone else weighed there s12...??
Like I said, the race car weighed a touch over 2500 totally gutted but with a full rollcage. I know it had to be a little bit lighter than a stock car since I had to cut the rear springs to get it to sit level.
so has anyone else weighed there s12...??
I'll weigh nime soon...there is a scale a the plant where my dad works...mine has no power ammenities so it will be interesting...and I am almost empty of gas...should be interesting...8)
so has anyone else weighed there s12...??
No, I think you're the only one...
http://www.club-s12.org/board/showthread.php?t=7173
I have....it was 2650 with spare tire, jack, wheel chocks, and about 3/8 of a tank of gas.
So generally a 200 pound difference between a CA S12 and a VG S12.
Makes sense... 100 lbs of blockage/pistonage/headdage (slanging) per each cyllinder.
