Well i was kinda disappoinded in losing, but hey, you cant win them all. Today I raced a fairly highly modded VW GTi a new one. Had the following visual mods.

FMIC,
17+ size rims and tires
nice exhaust
lowered
front and side body kit
and the part that hurts the most, a louder turbo.
+ probally otehr mods like a chip or intake or other goodies. Who knows.

I could hear this guys turbo over mine. And mine was whizzing at 100mph and 9psi.

ANyways, the race went from 45 mph - 112mph where I cut it off cause i was approaching redline and didnt like that feeling. I boosted from 3rd to 5th the whole time running 9psi and waiting till almost redline to change gears.

Man you get to 110 mph FAST :) Anyways, I lost at the end when he just took off at the higher RPMs. Damn our rear ends. Anways, it was a fun race and my FMIC is keeping my temps right where they need to be. Happy Racing and dont get any tickets.

i found out one of my silicone hoses has a huge slice in it allowing much boost to escape :( Could this have meant a win...probally not, but i guess I should check it out.

yellow prelude R i have a ca20e 84 notchback and i want to know how to make it turbo charged. can you help me out?

YellowPreludeRdate not saved · #4

sure. I got 2 ways to do it now.

1) The cheap and easy way.
2) The right way.

If you choose to go the first way, expect about $1000 worth of items and ill show you what you need.

If you choose the second way, expect about double that.

Good showing...I bet he had a way more more money in his than you do in yours, and you were still close...wait until you are up to full boost! 8)

no kidding. i just have some things it iron out and ill really turn up the boost. im hoping for the 1 bar range. It should be freaking exciting. =Next is a video of it runnin.

I want to see that vid when it's done man

And yeah, that tear in the silicone will DEFINITELY affect performance.

the slice was about as big enough to slide a dime through. Sucks.

I owned a 2003 GTI 1.8t 5spd with nothing but a cone filter on it, and it was strong for what it was. I sold it to my cousin and with no mods, not stripped or anything, he ran a best 1/4mi time of 15 seconds flat. If you buy a chip from Nuespeed and an exhaust you can gain 30-40 extra hp with no other mods, so don't feel too bad if you lost to a heavily modified one. Besides, he's probably wondering why he didn't beat you worse! Kinda fun when you can run with cars like that when they're 20g's plus and 20 years newer technology.
