This happened almost a year ago now and I just never posted it, but I thought about it tonight and laughed my ass off, so I decided to post it. Just as a note this happened in Edmonton Alberta, so any locals will have a really good laugh if they know the roads here.
It was in september of last year, I had just finished all the work on my car (T25-ported/polished head extrude honed/ port matched int-ex mani's/ upped boost to 13 psi/ spearco fmic/ 2.5 exh straight through, stealth Bov leaky bastard, 8 iridium plugs, msd wires, k&N drop in w/ scoop, talon fuel pump, hacked maf and a few other tid-bits...) I was still trying to take it a little easy with the car, I had'nt even brought it to 5500rpm yet. It had rained earlier that day, and had pretty much dried up everywhere, save for a few puddles here and there. It was about midnight and I was coming back from the bar with my girlfriend, the fun started when I got on yellowhead @ 170st heading east. I stopped at the first set off lights and a red cougar v6 2000 which had been mildly riced (sticker pkg-exh and tint) was beside me but I didnt even notice him. So when the light hit yellow I see this cougar boot er and I dont try too catch up but we stop beside each other at the second set off lights (156st). When I got there he had his window down and him and some girls were n the car, and I could tell he was playing pretend to the girls that he just whopped me at a race. It was then I recognized him as some punk kid from Eastglen highschool who thinks he's some kinda hardcore asian drug dealer or something. So I let him know with a few revs of the car up to the limiter that it was time to race.- The light hits green and my tires are just whalin away and then I got some tration, off the line he had three cars before I started to catch up, by the time a was @ 6500 in first I was beside him, but the time I ws in third and hit the St. albert trail underpass, he was like 10 cars at least behind me, probably 15.. and that continued with just green lights all the way to 66th street where I stopped at a red for about 30 seconds. I was on my way to the victoria trail off ramp doin about 110, (it is a highway there) And as I was just getting into the exit lane I hear that obnoxiously sad pop pop exhaust grumble and sure enough the cack sucker cuts me off while i'm in the exit lane,
this is where the funny part happens
so he gets in tis 60 off ramp s-bend thingy doin about one forty and around the first part off the corner there always this huge puddle, and guess what, he must have thought he ws in a aqua-cougar cause he drove right into it.
All I saw was the 20 foot high splash of water, and then a loud crunch like a car accident. When I could see what happened..
For any one here that ever hit big puddles you know what happens,it sucks your car in... egot sucked in, then over the curb he went and knocked a light pole right over, and horse shooed his front end pretty good. I hauled on the brakes to see if they were okay, he got out of his car and sweared at me, so i left.
Any way cougars are slow and I later found out that he some how got insurance to fix it as a hit and run
thanks for the insurance hike, I have a feeling he probably described my car.
