Ok, everybody is generally around looking here, so here we go.

This is to see how many people will be attending...I was planning on attending, who else is able to go??? 8)

We (as far as I know) were going to have it again at the Tim Hortons at Lakefront Promenade, and Lakeshore Blvd. (where it was last month), but the time of the meet still has to be ironed out...8)

Oh yah, it is tentatively scheduled for Saturday July 10 (this Saturday), not the 12 (which I have recently realised is a Monday)

sschungdate not saved · #2

i can make it. it's gonna be hot that day tho!

sschungdate not saved · #3

so is anyone going to this thing? if it's just me and alex... i dunno if i'll bother. (not that you aren't a great guy, alex =)

Mr.200date not saved · #4

well, turns out I'll be free Saturday, I got my dates mixed up.

I'll still be S12-less ... as it's broken and disassembled, but yeah ... might throw the Charger together for a little trip ;)

if you've still got that stock exhaust mani, can you bring that along? i want to make a tracing of the profile.

so is anyone else coming? or is this meet destined to be even smaller than the first one!

Mr.200date not saved · #6

would you rather the exhaust manifold gaskets instead?

I can bring the manifold, maybe ... *lol*

I have everything off and unbolted, but the damn down pipe flange bolts have rust-welded themselves into little lumps that won't even fit into any socket. I hoped they would break off, but noooooooooo, only small pieces of them did.

That stupid flange hangs up on the steering, so I can't pull the entire assembly out.

So I think I'm going to have to cross my fingers and hope I can sawzall it apart *lol*

Hopefully my Camry checks out at Toyota on Friday cause otherwise I'm good to go!

hmm, i thought you had a spare. it's kinda tricky but you can get the exh mani, turbo and downpipe out as an assembly. you've got to remove as many heat shields as possible. take off the o2 sensor and the heat sheild for the brake lines. not easy but doable =)

so what time?

Alex Frostdate not saved · #9

Oh yah I'll be there. Have we decided a time yet??

And by the looks of things, it will be the same size as last time...lol

Hope to see all four of us (five if Dan comes) there...and can anybody get a hold of Euroboy??? 8)

Mr.200date not saved · #10

I do have a spare manifold, just not at the car. I actually forgot about it for a while, but yeah I do. It's a bit chewed up internally, but that won't matter for a template.

Yeah what time guys? I gotta take off later in the afternoon to trade some gear in, but that's all I've got going on for the day.

I think it's supposed to be hot Saturday, like 28ºC ... so maybe earlier? Doesn't really matter to me ... I don't overheat walking ;)

Alex Frostdate not saved · #11

Ok then lets say maybe 10 ish. How does this sound to everybody?? 8)

Oh and I'll try to bring the Nitro RC car (the drifter) to the meet...8)

sschungdate not saved · #12

ok by me. i should be able to get out before the blistering heat sets in. black interiors aren't always so great =D

Limbrookedate not saved · #13

I can make it for 11 at earliest.

Mr.200date not saved · #14

*bleh* my body will be there at 10, my brain might show up later.

sschungdate not saved · #15

it is a tim horton's. they have coffee. i might be a bit late too. i have to see if i can find the old map to get there.

Alex Frostdate not saved · #16

It's at the corner of Lakeshore Blvd., and Lakefront Promenade...If I remember correctly 8)

Well that's close enough.
Good thing I arrived just in time. It was nice meeting you guys finally and it was a pleasure to drive around for most of the day watching S12's.

Mr.200: I would've mentioned this while in person however upon meeting you it appears to me you have a resemblence to Solid Snake from Metal Gear Solid and MGS2.

(What the hell [img] code doesn't work with .jpg?)
Maybe I played this game too much but you be the judge. Heh.

Mr.200date not saved · #18

Heh, can't say I've honestly heard that before.

Not celebrity, if videogames count as cause celèbre, but for the first few minutes I saw you, I was convinced you were the service manager from the Harley dealership I used to work at.

You never drove a Ford Probe that the word "anal" mysteriously appeared in chrome fine line tape? ;)

Heh, I know it wasn't you, but man, the resemblance is eerie.

And SS ... thanks for simultaneously making my day and ruining it all at the same time by letting me drive your S12. Fills me with hope, but also scares me to think just how much is probably broken on mine.

Alex Frostdate not saved · #19

Yah it would be nice if we could get it running decently...soon 8) You've got enough turbos now, I'm sure we could MacGuyver something up...at least temporarily. Especially if Steve can fab a mani for it...8)

sschungdate not saved · #20

next time, we set a realisitic meet time. when i arrive an hour late and am the first one there... there's something wrong with the planning (let alone limbrook who was what... 3 hours late?)

it was nice meeting ya ryan. next time turn out a bit earlier and you can have a better look at the s12's. and take a ride in one to convince you to finally get one of your own!

don't do the mcgyver thing. do right, do it once. then forget about it. you learn this the hard way. we'll get matt's 200 up and running before the end of the year. it's almost there right now.

Alex Frostdate not saved · #21

True it is almost there. Lets just hope a new turbo fixes some of the problems it has right now...eg the rally car sound...And I should hope it would be running by the end of this year...Hell I was hoping we might have it running by the end of this month, or early August...Does this sound possible to anyone else.

And Macguyvering things can work...my intake (its amazing how much better it runs when you connect a vacuum line 8)), and the tranny cooler on the Fury are two examples...

Mr.200date not saved · #22

heh, guess he forgot to tell you what happened to the tranny fittings ;)

The car will live again ... with Einst-guyvering. Stuff can be DIYed, but there is a limit to how far I trust my bubble gum and duct tape.

Everything is looking A-ok on the manifold mod.

If Steve ends up making manifolds, I'll throw the cast iron slug away faster than you can say "Look out, identified flying object!" since everything else I have worked out works with the stock location.

Scary, is it looks like it might be back together after another weekend of swearing. I just need one OEM part to get the lines sorted, and it'll be finger crossing time.

Judging by how much of my factory manifold is missing, the elliptical pattern my compressor wheel (or what's left of it) spins in and the 1L of oil per 1km of driving ... I think I know what was making it sound like it had an ALS ;)

Yeah it was a bad and good that I was late: 2 considerations
1. "It's better to be late than sorry", however you can be "late" & "sorry", which is where I might have placed if I had been 1 min too late.
2. If that "1 min" scenario did end up happening I would've never gotten some live viewing of 200's.

At least I made it at all. (Reason for late....err....cause for late arrival.) I woke up around 9:45am and figured I'd leave by 10:15am, however I found out that Mother dearest had an appointment and took my ride! I waited until 12:10 and she finally arrived. I took off but not before grabbing $9.71 of 87 at the nearby Esso. I jumped on the highway and by the time I reached Browns Line it was 1:10pm. Then I began my search (having only remembered that it was a Tim's near Browns...oh brother. So I go down 40th to the lake, nothing, I head back to Lakeshore then proceed due East (bad move), searching for a Tim's with a resemblance to the photographs from the earlier meet I spot one but it's measly parking lot doesn't fit the bill, so I continue East for a little more and then turn around and decide to ask the Manager at the spotted Tim's if he knew where else I should look/"go". He says there's one in the industrial area by Cawthra on the lake side of Lakeshore and that's where I meet up @ 1:20pm!. Next time we meet there I'll know where to go and save myself a good 20 minutes of searching like a blind man for glasses.

Cool, I don't recall ever being confused for someone else, but there's a lot of people out there to meet and many more you'll never know. It's funny too cause I was the only one without shades and damn could I have used some too.
BTW, I've drove "in" a 2nd gen Probe (anal?, whoa) but never owned one, heh.

Oh dear...what happened to them??? Was it another trip to Canadian Tire?? 8)
