Well I had the most enjoyable race as of yet, so the story,
Chillin' like a villain aty the local spot in my rolla, buddy rolls up in his 2003 Corolla Type-S, pretty much stock, he sees my ae86 and starts tlaking shit that old school aint got shit, yadda yadda, I walk over, put a $20 Piece down and challenge him to a race, he accepts.
We line it up at our 1/4 mile, (abadoned paved logging road), first race, I dumped the clutch and spun first to redline, he gripped and pulled half a length on me, and then when i got traction we were matched and i was slowly rolling on him by the time we had to shut down, Shit I lost, this guyz grinning ear to ear, but the agreement was for 3 races. We line it up again, perfect launch on my part, pulled him on the launch by 1.5 lengths, by the top of second I had 2 lengths on him, and by 3rd that distance wasnt growing or declining. 3rd race, same deal awesoem launch, I pull on him by 1.5 lengths, he claims he ****ed up his 2nd-3rd shift cuz by the time we had to shut down, i had 2.5 lengths oin him.
All in all, Old School Owns.

sick... do you drift at all with that Hachi Roku? they're supposed to be awesome for that.
Its the driver not the hachi... If its a gts with the lsd nice... i used to have one and drifting was rather easy because lsd + light small car = easy car control.

Man some people are just Grade-A, top-choice, first-degree MORONS. I love it when people think their car must automatically be faster because it's newer. Do they think that cars are like batteries and as they get older they gradually get slower and slower? Even an AE86 SR-5 is twice the car that lame Type S is. Sorry, but clunky rice-boy body cladding slapped onto a four-door econo-sedan does not a sports car make.

I disagree kid wasnt a ricer at all really, and I know for a fact an SR5 aint got shit on a type-s, the type-s maybe a 4-door boring mutha, but it does still sport the 1.6 dohc vvt-i, pretty mucvh the modern version i believe of th 4age....
Way to stomp em' Mimms. I love to hear about old school roasting the new stuff. :pimp:
Niiice mims :D
Corrolla S's are garbage from a performance stand point.
1.8L VVT DOHC alright but the 1ZZFE is NOT a performance engine nor related in any or any form to the 4A. The last 4AGE was overseas in 2001. The black top 20V version. Again that engine and the 4A were built for completely different purposes.
When did people start confusing new corrolla's for civics? :dontknow: I do know when they put that 2ZZGE in there it will be pretty quick but with almost no way to go faster without a lot of money.
I agree w/ 5... the new ZZ's are in no way linked to the 4A and they are VERY hard to work on. All the new toyota engines are but I really don't like dealing w/ VVT or Vtech or any of that crap. its just me though. I thought I heard they were bring the europian 3dr model over which would be kinna cool. Its small and lite. I think they were used for rally racing actually? any way. glad you had fun racing another corolla. I was gonna say if you ever need parts for the AE please check out T3 they have been really cool w/ me and are very interested in the developement of parts for the S12. so even though you have betrayed us by purchasing your AE you could help support us by supporting them. =)
If you beat him 2 out of 3 times then he didnt know how to drive well, or he didnt have anything done. My Sport rolla was pretty quick. I had a long list of honda products that were killed by it. Just for more unbeleivable stories I raced a Jetta 1.8T 3 times. I was killing him by about 3 -4 car lengths until I hit the speed limiter on the rolla. It is set at 160 km/h. Every time he pulled right past me when I hit that. But his turbo was squelling and whining all over the place trying to keep up wth me. Mine wasnt at all stock. But with basic bolt on exhuast, coolant bypass, and a few other "Secret" mods my car was certainly not slow. Heck a celica GTS had a hard time keeping up with me. (they have a hard time keeping up with most people though)
I sold the car though because it wouldnt go any faster without dropping another $5000 for a turbo upgrade.
Another Old Toy, beats a new Toy...The Corolla is by no means a race car, but it is quick...weights about the same as the AE86, and 140 hp...when they work properly they are quick...and now that the 2ZZ will be put in them...they will be a bit quicker...8)
Don, you need the Supercharger, or some other form of forced induction
