Got some performance figures for my car now
Taken from a G-TECH pro with 4 runs in opposite directions.
1/4 mile 14.2-14.4 @ 104mph for all
0-60mph 5.7seconds (good) - 5.9seconds (spinning, and a little sideways)
Estimated 200 or so RWHP (149rwkw or so)
Pretty happy with it really :) Thats how it's going to stay for a while cos it's main purpose is general thrasher and drift car, oh yeah it gets me to work and back to.

SR S12 quarter mile time
This thread was saved without dates. "Around Jun 2004" is estimated from neighbouring threads.
What have you done to your car?
He's one of the rare SR20DET powered S12's. I hate him. JK. Good numbers Neb congrats
ya that sounds about right for a mostly stock sr... now get some drag radials and hit the track and you'll be in the 13.6-13.8range
Yeah mostly stock SR, only mods are 3" turbo back, JZA70 front mount, extractor manifold and 15psi. I was pretty happy especially considering the weight of my S12 (power sunroof, steering, windows, mirrors etc), it's around 1340kg or 3000lb with me in it, the runs were with two of us in the car so we estimated 1400kg (cos the fuel tank was next to empty) with the two of us in it.
i need to find a shop in the northeast that can swap nissan motors... *grumble* :honda:
Mine was done by me in my shed, with help from my dad for fabricating stuff and from my mates for moving heavy objects hehe.
:finger:
hehe just kidding, i'm just jealous
haha eveyone hates a smart ass :P
thanks anyways :)
pity about the slower ET but excellent MPH! with some traction and less weight (minus passenger of course) a 12 should be within reach.
welll done!
yeah well minus my 85kg passenger, the spare, jack, tools, and on a better surface it'd be good. I remembered the other day i'm still running a second hand standard VL commo air filter to... have to get a K & N in there soon...
what box are you running btw?
also, you got an r200 in the ass?
Yes he does. He did a complete swap over from the soild rear axle to the IRS set up.
Yeah thats right i'm running a stock R200 LSD from a R31 (i think) turbo. It's a fairly loose clutch pack setup but i'm pretty happy with it. I'm running a stock SR20 gearbox.

Do you have any pics of the swap? and if not how hard was it, what did you have to do?
Yeah i do, it wasn't to hard, as far as engine swaps go it was a piece of cake really, only the CA18DET is probably easier. What photos do you want to see? If i was to do the swap again i'd slot the crossmember to sit the motor a little forward off the firewall and clear the factory clutch master cylinder (right hand drive car), my mates SR gazelle was done like that and was much easier, i think the gearbox x-member might be able to be slotted to fit if you do that to but you'll still need a custom tail shaft.

:pimp:
thanx for the pics! The car looks great!!! :p is it possible to email me some of the pics?
i got a question man. Did you remove the front bumper guard? When you remove the front bumper, you have foam under that and then a metal bar. Is that all removed?
nah the front bumper is still all there, it just has those holes cut in it to let the air through, mine didn't have foam under it when i took it off, neither did my other gazelle so it could be a US spec thing, you lot always got massive bumper bars on your cars as part of your design rules, could be different.
Nismo: i can email you pics i have a few hundred at home, what do you want pics of?
More pics at http://www.cardomain.com/id/zeruel by the way

do you have pics of the actual installation? if not dont worry about it....sorry to be a pain but ive been considering this swap for quite sometime and i would appreciate as much information as possible...thanks!
I have photos of my gearbox x-member, i might have one of the hole i cut in the floor for the shifter, that photo up there with the wiring everywhere and the SR still with a black top was taken about 10 minutes after me and a mate jammed the thing in there, i have heaps of photos at home, the ones on the cardomain site are mostly new ones of the things i have done since i got the car on the road.

Cool!..can you send me those pics?, and if possible ones that might be helpful...thanks! :-P
those are awesome numbers for the limited mods! seems like a great car to get sideways in!
with that trap speed, you should be running at least 13's..but traction is key
if the clutch is loose than there is probably air in the lines. You have to bleed from the slave cylinder and the clutch buffer (located on frame.) you also might be using the s12 slave cylinder instead of the s13.

He ment the clutch pack in the LSD, he has no problems with the clutch for the engine at all 8)
Haha 'tis tru, my clutch is way good :) and i can bleed it fine :)
Hey Neb. am wondering how much are you boosting you run 14.02, and at what altitude is this??
My boost flutuates alot it runs between 11-15 psi, at that time i think it was spiking 16 but holding 13 or so. I'm near the coast so altitude is near 0 i guess. 14.02 was a bit dissapointing for me, i wanted somthing with a 13 in front of it but meh it's not a drag car and my mph makes me happy :)
One day when i can be bothered i'll go to Western Sydney International Dragway and get a proper slip, with the way my suspension development is going my quarter mile times will probably start to rise haha.
I was just asking because thats my time on the 1/4 mile. I was curious one day so, I took my car to the L.A.C.R., its a track here in L.A. I was boosting about the same 13psi but the altitude is about 3200ft above sea level. Quarter mile is not my thing but its good for a car with EVC, FMIC, and free flow 3'inch piping and Tanabe exhaust.

In a drag race, everything you learned about mph, you may as well throw out the window...mph means nothing in a drag race...

well no really if you trap a 108 and yuo et is a 13.9 then you know your car os way quicker if you can get traction.. youd be looking at a 12.5-13.3 car...
The mph is a good indicator of HP. You can have a car that rockets off the line (AWD), but dies in the top end, that runs the exact same time as a car that spins it's butt off at the line but runs a good trap speed... I've seen top fuel cars blow up off the line and run 7s at 120mph...
Yeah i think MPH is usefull in setting up a 1/4 mile car, you know you have more potential if your MPH is good etc, obviously you look at it all in conjunction with whatever else you know about the car but it's usefull nontheless. I should be able to get a better quarter mile time now that i know that i set my timing wrong when i first did it before i had the car on the road, i only checked it again on friday to discover that i have had it set 5 degrees retarded...do'h. Car feels my sprightly now at least haha.
Yeah, probably a ton of power hiding there, just watch your mixture when you bring it back so you don't end up leaning it out.
When my stupid knock sensor buggered up, I lost about 10º of timing.
It was like tying the car's nuts to a pole ...
those 5º extra should make quite a difference.
And while MPH is a good indicator of how fast you should be running, if you spun a bad 60-foot time, unless you're already out of power by the traps ... the MPH won't tell you much
I know if I shift into 3rd (out of 3 ;) ) my MPH will jump, but my time will drop.
If I wind out to 7,200-ish in 2nd instead of shifting to 3rd, I'll hit valve float at about the same time as I cross the beam ...
But yeah Nebby ... you've got a 13 second Gaz under your butt
Yeah i should be safe running 15 dbtdc as thats what it's supposed to run, i got the front mount and only use 98 octane fuel so i should be set, i'm being carefull anyways though till i'm sure its sweet.
