Well, I figured i should start a build thread on my s12 i have nicknamed the grease rocket!

i found her on kijiji, had been sitting for 5+ years. had no battery, flat tires, no exhaust was told that they had no idea if it ran..

went to look. brought a battery. she fired right up after adding some gas but ran shitty!!
the day i picked it up for 225$

figured out some vacuum issues and an exhaust/tires! fixed the exhaust mani gasket (holy fuck worst job ever)

here it is sitting with my long term z31 300zx turbo project!

picked up an audi SMIC for 15$, going to run it top mount style!

mock up, probably going to run a vented hood above the i/c with a water sprayer!

i mainly picked this up for a cheap drift car, but its growing on me! haha my plans for the car are to keep it under 1000$ and have some fun!

intercooler piped.

need to figure out an air filter situation as my old one no longer fits. also have to remount coils.

decided to do a rad flush. apparently it was needed. haha yes that is/was coolant.  flushed it for a few days with a couple batches of water.

then refilled with antifreeze for the winter season coming soon!

Pulled the intercooler out to clean it/fix the intake pipe.

added a fresh air filter(still have to build a shroud to seperate the intake/ ic) and another shroud to keep the filter a bit cleaner haha

that was clean 2 days ago

clean intercooler. need to get the bay clean now. haha

now i need to vent the hood and run a shroud to seal the ic to the hood for max cooling.

plans this weekend are to do a valve adjust as i have a loud lifter. (luckily they are mechanical and are adjustable!) and replace the sway bar endlinks that just arrived.

waiting on a boost controller as mine was fuckered. found that out when i deleted the pop off valve.

fun fact s12 stock turbos start to squeal at 17 psi.

You have given me an idea of routing my piping for my FM

slammedcoupeSep 11, 2013, 4:13 pm · #5

thinking of same side piping? the z31 guys do it alot as we have a stupid TB location

set the boost to 15 psi, she pulls pretty good now! haha then,

the rf spring perch decided to let go.

needs a tire, looks like im going for a gc style coil setup like i built for the Z

also have decided to build an intercooler sprayer to combat i/c heatsoak(trying to maintain a sleeper look, but will vent the hood last resort). will be an automatic system triggered by boost pressure (starts spraying at 5psi) just waiting for some parts to come in

decided to replace both front struts as the driver side is starting to rust.

everyone was ok! it wasnt too scary just a loud pop and tire smoke everywhere!

When i bought the car, it had no exhaust. so i temp built the straight exhaust that didnt exit away from the car

while the car is down(or up if you wanna get sticky haha) i decided to re work the piping to make it exit out the side.

here is what i came up with.
