WTH?? 82 Convertible 200sx!!

Hello gang, I received a phone call today in regards to an add I have on CL in regards to looking for Datsuns.

The call led me to a guy in the Chicago area that has had a 1982 "California Customs" convertible 200sx conversion. The car has been in storage for 20 years and made it's way to him via Texas. He said it has substantial sun damage and the top needs replaced. He currently does not want to sell but might be looking to restore it.

Now to my question.. Who is "California Customs"? Was this a common conversion? Now I'll start my search. ;-)

Eww The S110 is hideous enough the vert does not help some one needs to burn that thing!

I imagine that's what 90% of the S13/4/5 crowd say about the S12...
