I recently purchased my first s12 on craigslist and it happens to be a black on black 84 turbo (rust free, low miles). I bought it knowing that it shut off on the previous owner while trying to get home. I purchased the car pretty cheap so I wasnt worried about the running issue at all. Well I started looking into it right away ,and found that the reason it shut off on him was a simple fix with a wire not sending current to the fusebox. After firing it for the first time I heard a loud knocking in the valvetrain area. Next I took the valve cover off and found all the rockers were loose because it looked like somebody over tightened the rocker bar bolts and spripped the head out.... So I then drilled and tapped the head/rocker bar oversize and got that issue fixed. The car runs decent now other than the turbo is toast and blowing oil into the compressor and exhaust housing. New t25g turbo on order and megan coils here awaiting install with s13 knuckles/brakes and ss hoses also. Cold weather is my enemy right now with temps down in the single digits so I havent got much done to it lately.
