I thought you guys, being s-chassis lovers in general, would appreciate a small build thread for my side project.

it's starting life as an incredibly clean 1989 240sx coupe, interior is seriously flawless. I am going to be filling it with loads of jdm goodness, and turning it into a dope silvia [i.e s13 nose swap, ca18det swap, etc]

here's the car as it sits now:

and the interior shots:

yes, it's autotragic but when I swap in the ca18det I'll make sure it's a five speed lol

Some goodies I have so far:

super duper rare jdm s13 hicas II steering wheel

semi-rare factory option window visors, I've seen a COUPLE sets but not on any cars around here

and I also have a manual seatbelt conversion kit....just waiting to buy a jdm headliner because they're wider, the usdm ones are shorter door to door to compensate for the tracks on the automatic belts

this one is sort of my side project, something to tinker with here and there while I sort out the s12. the silvia will be more like my show car/daily driver

Sorry for the lack of knowledge on that "recent" car (too recent for my own taste lol) but how the fuck can you know how fast your going... normally, the s13 I see have a normal analog tachi/speedo, but this seems to have an analog tachi and a digi speedo... is that rare or maybe it has something to do with the canadian and american diff... like the autobelt... all the s13 I say here have the manual ones...

well old trusty wikipedia says that the digi speedo is part of the power pakage on the coupe... I have only driven in hatch,, so makes sense... also, we canadian had the good shit (for once) we had the manual seat belts oppose to your auto one, along with the vlsd on all models...(according to wiki) so I guess that make the canadian model halfway USDM/JDM... it's a JDM down to the speedo being in KPH but has the USDM engine... can't have it all lol

Although I'm not really an s13 fan anymore (since they became so popular)...I could rock one IF it was a coupe/silvia front end conversion/ca18det powered car...looks like your on the right track for my approval Smiley

now all it needs is a mint green metallic/charcoal two-tone paint job

Tommy - yeah, I know a lot of the other countries got better options than we did haha, put I can just as easy swap a vlsd in mine, which I will when it comes time for motor/drivetrain upgrades

Taris - I bought my first s13 coupe...forever and a year ago, before they were the shit. and I didn't buy it for the status, I bought it cuz it was such a cool little car, and I don't drive anything but nissan. I was looking at a mint two tone but the guy sold it before I could get it....I think I'm gonna stay white on black though, it's kind of sexy in person. just imagine it with the silvia nose, and big bronze nismo lmgt4s on it =]

haha I wanted to, but they tend to get expensive...I figured I may as well just build one. More fun, and cheaper

very true, being in canada makes it easy and more cost effective to just bring on in from jaypan

I have to agree, much better style. guess we're all 80's lovers at heart. it's an 89 anyway, so it still deserves 80's wheels haha.

as some of you may or may not know, my s13 got totaled, so I've been fighting for money, trying to find one, and finally got one lol.

destroyed white car. =(

the new one. just as clean as far as the body goes, immaculate undercarriage...but the motor needs help, and the interior is classically ragged.

so I've got more work set out for me than originally, because now I've got to strip both cars and put one good one together....but whatevs. gives me the opportunity to do stuff I wasn't gonna do to the white car.
