The 2010 Japanese Classic Car Show featured over 400 cars, and S12's took two trophies in the 80's Datsun/Nissan class!

No, we've been trying to figure it out... either a timing issue or a carb problem or both. I'll tell you all what is really wrong with this car. It has a great big fucking question mark over the engine. So I towed it, but I would have towed it anyways rather than risk it driving. Still, it nabbed a trophy and every trophy one of us gets helps gain our car chassis more respect.

Just posted a couple more pics on the buzz page ;) Greg and I took a bunch of pics, including of the other non-S12 cars at the show, but we'll post them up soon (probably in this thread).

Anyways, it was lots of fun. I still find it funny we beat out the handful of slick looking Z31's that were parked behind us. I think people got to see and notice us more, and we're now not so obscure.

Word. I can see where you would get hurt or offended, but in the greater scheme it doesn't matter. When people are dicks to you, kill them with kindness, then they feel like shit.

hahah i'm not hurt or surprised bro lol, just felt credit should be given where due. If any of the other guys won something and didn't get mentioned, that would blow just the same. It's not about me, it's about the car and the S12 community at large, if that makes sense.

Actually everyone was pretty chill at the show, it was good to see Henry since last year's show, he's always pretty laid back.

Colin's car deserved the 1st place trophy, the engine + the clean exterior = win.

Yeah. For sure. I just wouldn't even make a post about it, just out shine the other person that will show them more than anything else would.

So, I guess I need to clarify based on my post that has been referenced in this thread.

In my first sentence, I sought to thank all those who were there.  For several of you, I met for the first time and am sure I may be able to meet again.  Sorry, I have forgotten some of your names.  I'm much more of a face person.

As far as what i was aware, we were all there to have fun and represent the S12 chassis.  I did not mention any placements for that was not what I wished to talk about.  Besides the lack of sleep and my need to constantly clean my car, it was great.  I wanted to thank those specifically who went out of their way in hosting me in some fashion.  One even accommodated a request I had from weeks prior, which I am thankful for.

My condolences if there was offense taken.

On a side note, I figure if a synopsis was written about the event that all those who represented the S12 would be mentioned; those of placement as well.  When I do finish my trip up north later this week and am able to finish my write up, all those will be mentioned, it will be more comprehensive.

Thanks for posting up pics for those who did here as well as elsewhere.  Lots of good cars out there and great to see them.  I did walk around a little but some of of those posted I missed.

oh and any chassis with a build date that started its production run pre 85 is allowed to enter the show

which is quite unfortunate, imo.  I think it should be production year personally.

Sorry, but a Mk2 S12 is really not all that similar to a Mk1 S12.

I don't agree, the Mark II is close enough to the Mark II to look like the same car. Good enough for me.

I guess my car wasn't hellaflush or connected enough for speedhunters lolz. It's ok, the people I wanted recognition from gave it.

I need to do something different with the car tho... I haz some ideas in the works, and I suppose I have a year to implement them.

Thinking about new cars and even some 90s cars being considered "classics" in future makes me shake my head.  S13s are cool and all, but...classic to me just has a certain vibe and it started dying in the 80s.
