Yeah it was pricey! Thats why we only stayed in munich for two days. Expensive city in general as well. But the heidis and bmw welt was all worth the stay.

I'll keep that in mind, thanks

Optimator? Never heard of that one

Spaten is actually not a very good beer, it's just so easy to drink and is specially served at the october fest, so it just gives a good atmosphere to the whole thing.

lol but compared to the american big 3, budweiser, miller and coors, it tastes amazing. I had it in a pizza place/bar in jacksonville called mellow mushroom. they called it a 'high gravity' beer because it had i think 7 or 8% by volume versus the usual 4-5%. Whats a good european beer to try and get ahold of?

Optimator is just the name given for USDM folks. Prolly has a better name over there, like Gelbe fizzy Bier.

Spaten has another beer for the USDM they call "October Fest" which is somewhat darker and very tasty. I prefer porters and stouts so the October Fest goes down much easier...

The Trappiste beer from belgium is supposed to be one of the beest beers made. Got around 9%, but haven't had the chance to taste it yet so cant agree or disagree.

Other than that, those are what I prefer:
Franziskaner (if you can stand weiss-bier)
Hofbrau Original/festbier (cant remember which, too drunk)
Hacker-Pschorr Dunkel

Oh, and Wolf. Those you can find at festivals in sweden and germany

Bad luck man. But I'm sure you will have the chance to come to munchen in september/october sometime and check out beer, food and nice ladies.
