it was more of a test to see if the ka would blow... its my first time really putting pressure on it

not bad for 15 bux all night and its a mile away

i beat a few accords and civics i felt good.
i got owned by a 5.0 mustang though

haha when i first read that i thought it was 1/4 mile in 10 seconds. iwas like holy shit that car is QUICK!
not too bad tho.

my 20e ran a 12.3 so your not slow!

Bart put down lots of time at the dragstrip, so you might ask him stuffs.

i should

old dominion speedway *where i first drifted

is literally a mile from my house

they do test and tune EVERY wensday, and some real races on fridays\
im so happy its so close in case the car breaks...

i just wanna make sure i can make it to summit, and improve my driving skills

take in mind i dont have a tachometer
XanoApr 8, 2009, 8:24 pm · #5

anyone wanna do a rough estimate of what that would do in a 1/4 mile?

Edit: A shitty online calculator says this.

Your ET computed from your vehicle ET of 10.182 seconds is 15.88 seconds in Quarter Mile.

David BApr 8, 2009, 8:32 pm · #6

i hand timed my ca20e at like 18-19 seconds so thats awesome lol

i know i can go faster.... my first time ever drag racing.. with no tach

XanoApr 8, 2009, 9:08 pm · #7

yeah dude, work on that 60' and 330' and you'll be running low 15 high 14 quarter mile times.

I dont know shit about 1/8th mile times, I dont see them often enough to know whats good or bad.

hillkillApr 10, 2009, 10:05 pm · #8

is that ka a single or dual cam???  10 isn't bad at all for a n/a motor... I think i was doing mid to low 9's with a stock dual cam turbo so your only a little bit behind.

sohc. me drag racing for first time... spinning wheels through second gear.. haha i cant get traction i keep kicking the clutch fast
silverarrow27Apr 12, 2009, 11:16 pm · #10

Definitely work on 60 ft time and learn how to feather your clutch for launch.

David BApr 12, 2009, 11:23 pm · #11

yea i shall, next wensday ill post up my new times to see if i can improve

seishukuApr 19, 2009, 3:27 pm · #12

Not too bad, my shitty 1/8 pass was 9.1xx... Really bad 60ft and RT, the track was like driving on water.

I'd like to hit really high 12's this year, but I don't think that's going to happen on 205 street tires.

rageMay 12, 2009, 3:43 pm · #13

why do you need a tach? just bounce it off the limter

the car cuts, and then i cant drive for like 3seconds
VG30_S12May 12, 2009, 7:00 pm · #15

i wonder how that would calculate to 1/4 mile times?

seat time will make better, but ill bet it could benifit from 8-9in wide wheels and tires, and some flat sticky tires

frosti108May 21, 2009, 8:18 pm · #16

wait, how are you spinning tires with a welded? stock n/a ka24e + welded = no spinning

A welded diff just means both axles are receiving power, it doesnt keep tires from spinning.

how the fuck does someone drift then!

i can spin 1st, second, and chirp 3rd with welded diff and 70 percent treaded bf goodrich tractions on the rear with like 20 psi in them 195 60 r15

stock kae with intake and exuast stripped rear interior
frosti108May 29, 2009, 7:13 am · #19

they must not prep the track what so ever. drag strip is supposed to be much stickier than the street. like if i try to launch my streetbike on the street, it just spins. if i launch it on the strip, it will try to flip backwards before it spins

kyskaterMay 31, 2009, 9:10 am · #20

dont feel bad david b. when i went to the 1/8 mile i got matched up against a 700hp evo lol. then a riced out sunfire, bodykit and all on it painted dash.... figured i could beat an atx pos nope  100 shot of nitrous lol

Jsvob03May 31, 2009, 7:49 pm · #21

i'm gonna say somewhere in the 16's in the quarter mile based on your readings.

definately need to work on the launch tho. Gettin your 60' time around 2.2 is something to aim for..and uh..need to work on the hand/eye/foot coordination, the R/T is a bit off.

Finding the launch RPM is a Trick. My vg was good at around 2200 rpm. anything higher, and it would light the tires up (even with trackbite!!), anything lower, and it would bog out (due to the crappy running at the time).

Wheel Hop was TERRIBLE for me. bang bang bang.

Good luck man. practice the launches.
