Finally an update.

The car is going to be dropped off this afternoon at 5:30 at my girlfriend's parents' house.  Until I get it roadworth, or at least get it registered and tagged, it will stay there but I was offered some garage space at my aunt's house.  Her boyfriend just got a bunch of new tools and has tons of space so I'll be taking the S12 up there for most of the winter to do some restoration, etc.  It will also help to have some extra helping hands in the form of him and my Dad (who lives 5 miles from there).

I'll try to snap some updated pictures as soon as I actually do something to the car.

David B, I'll get back to you about the seats as soon as I test fit the z31 seats.  Shouldn't be too much longer.

OK.

I finally did some stuff to the car.

The car was filled with random crap, I even found a registration for a toyota pickup truck.

Anyway, since the rear glass was broken, it had been re-located to all over the interior of the car.  I fired up the trusty shop vac and sucked out all the glass, then all the water that had been sitting, then some more glass that I found.

I took everything out of the car, got all the glass I could find, then bolted the front seats in and put the center console back into the car. After that, I found all of the wiring for the tail-lights, etc and figured out what everything plugged into.  It all works, but the tail-lights are always on, so I need to get the little round thing that goes into the brake pedal switch mechanism and that should be fixed.

The other day I found a pretty nice hatch at a junkyard in Lynchburg thanks to Car-Part.com so my friend and I took a trip out there and picked it up.  It has all the glass, spoiler, wiring, everything.

A few days ago I got a PM from David B that a nearby junkyard had an S12 with full interior, so me, my friend, my dad, my uncle, and his son drove up there and pulled pretty much the entire rear-interior from the car.  That includes all the molding for the hatch area, cargo cover, etc.  I didn't get the carpet though, just because I didn't have room to carry it and I'll probably do a spray-in liner anyway.

The car also had two perfect tail-lights.  I only needed 1, but I figured I'd grab both since they were so damned shiny.  I was going to grab the door panels, but again...didn't have room in the car and they were kinda tattered anyway.

Grand total-75 bucks.

The car is finally going up to my Aunt's house in Fredericksburg either this week or next week where I can work on it in a nice, warm garage with non-wal mart brand tools and good light.  Hopefully I can then get it running, I think there is a fuel problem with the car...possibly clogged lines, but I will have to do some more troubleshooting.

I need to borrow my girlfriend's camera for pics.

I won't be taking it, though I might take the driver fender since mine has a small amount of rust on it.  The exterior colors keep adding up on this car.  So far I have dark blue, black, grey, and rust...may be adding red.

Oh yeah, that slipped my mind.  The car at Chesterfield Auto has no Driver side fender, but it does have a passenger fender.  I couldn't find anything useful on that car, at least nothing that I needed.

I replaced the passenger side tail-light last night and put the little plasticky bulb things on the brake pedal mechanism so that the brakes won't be on all the time.

I also installed the window latches for the sid triangle windows.

I really should take some pics, but it's always dark when I get off work.

Well, this car has essentially been sitting in a garage since October of last year and I have no time to work on it.  I think I'm going to sell/part it out once I get time to go take some new pics and an inventory of what's there and working.

Anyone interested in a fairly clean, stripped S12.  Needs a new fuel pump to run I think.

Lol.

Nah, but the car is in my Aunt's garage over an hour away.

I don't technically have a house...I live with my girlfriend and her parents and don't have anywhere to keep non-running cars.

I'll take some pics soonish.

Should be going bye-bye next week.  Next on the auction block, my S13.

Is there a reason your selling all your cars? Didn't you just get the s13?

LeegamerJan 26, 2010, 9:35 pm · #14

Yes, I am Mr. Krabs.  I like money.

I hate buying and selling cars often in Washington cause you have to pay the 9.3% sales tax to the state when you transfer the title to your name. Sure there are ways around this sometimes but its still usually a big hassle. You still have one other s12 if you sell this one though right?

LeegamerJan 26, 2010, 9:45 pm · #16

Car was never put into my name, so I don't have to worry about that.

I have my notch, but I need money to probably buy another KA for it.

I also want another Z31 eventually.

Justin came and picked this up today...he has big plans and it should be awesome!

Hopefully he'll make a build thread or add to this one.

Yeah...except where in the hell do you get dry ice!!!  Then you have to get the stuff to handle it, contain it.  I prefer to use the tools I have at hand and don't mind the little extra time involved too!

i know its old but seriously man you get dry ice from your local grocery store
