I joined this forum a few years ago after I got a S12 hatchback with a CA20E and a blown head gasket. I sold that car for the same price I bought it for a year later ($300.00) but I have been on the lookout for another since.
Since I already have a project car a made a few conditions that would have to be met before I got another S12.
- It had to run
- It had to be a coupe / notch
- It had to be black or white
- It had to be a 5 speed
well, all of my wishes were met when I spotted one on craigslist for $450.00 last week!
Here she is:

The good:
-The body is in decent shape
-The paint is better than my black S13
- It runs and drives fine
- The A/C works (IMG:style_emoticons/default/w00t2.gif)
- it TALKS! does YOUR car do THAT??
- power windows and everything on the dash works
- The carpet is better than most S13's I have seen
The bad:
- It needs a decent amount of TLC. It's not completley ragged out though
- The interior door panels and seats are assed.
- Needs new door pins
My plans:
short term
- replace enough parts to make the car somewhat dependable
- clean up the interior and maybe get newer / beter parts from the junk yard
- replace the steel wheels and hubcaps with decent offset 280zx turbo wheels (snowflakes)
long term
- tighten up and lower the suspension, possibly do the S13/S14 hybrid front suspension setup as seen on club S12.
I don't plan on doing anything crazy to this car any time soon. I got it cheap, it's a decent running car, and it's got an old-school hotness I like. I want to be able to drive it to meets or maybe the beach sometimes.
I would think it would be a sin to strip this car and call it a "drift project"
