They look awesome.

Question...

SRA and IRS? or only IRS?

RedneckFeb 11, 2007, 3:06 am · #8

Let me get this straight.....those are Megan Racing coilovers specifically designed for the s12?

oldschoolsilviaFeb 11, 2007, 3:43 am · #9

Yes (IMG:style_emoticons/default/w00t2.gif) ^^^

The fronts are for an S13, but the rears are designed to bolt into the S12 (IMG:style_emoticons/default/cool.gif)

Hmmm now will the rears work on the Solid Axle.......

I hope they work for both...
if it does I'd buy them straight up.

I know it's still in the prototype stage but...
is there an estimate of how much these might cost?

silvia loveFeb 11, 2007, 4:14 am · #11

nice!!! now whats the price? when will they be availible?

Luke200sxFeb 11, 2007, 4:42 am · #12

Sexy. Just sexy.

EternalNewbieFeb 11, 2007, 7:40 am · #13

HOW MUCH HOW MUCH I NEED

hillkillFeb 11, 2007, 9:47 am · #14

Well the s13 fronts fit perfectly, but the rear spring sleeve could be designed better. This is just the first design but I can't wait till we get it perfect. The rear is for IRS only. I'm assuming the price will be around the same as most of their other coilover sets.

rageFeb 11, 2007, 11:14 am · #15

this is really awesome. how do you adjust the rear dampening?
i assume its at the top of the piston like on the front? i see you can adjust the height so the spring doesnt come off, thats pretty good work.

Radracer_SFeb 11, 2007, 12:00 pm · #16

Interesting. Those rear suspensions are similar to mine. If that's the case both setup will fit IRS and SRA. Mine will be real coilovers for the rear after the swap.

hillkillFeb 11, 2007, 7:01 pm · #17

Can someone post a pic of the spring mounting point on the solid axle s12?

blitzFeb 11, 2007, 8:02 pm · #18

what kind of things needs to be done before we can install this suspension setup? does the front needs to be converted to S13 stuffs?

- price?
- compare to scc/cm + shocks combo, is this better ? (apart from the adjustability, ofcourse)

yeah i was wondering if the sleeve is angled a bit? wouldn't the spring bow when lowered?

yes you need to do the s13 front suspension swap. there needs to be complete d.i.y. guide with pics for the swap. we should now get MR to make the tie rod ends like A1 does. or have them make tension rod brakets that fit better than the S14 units to use with S13/S14 tension rods.
chad-s12-driftFeb 12, 2007, 2:05 am · #20

do u have to do a complete s13 swap in the front or just a couple of parts ae to be swaped out?

asparagusOct 12, 2007, 2:38 am · #21

lol megan is gonna be disappointed when they realize that they're going to make absolutely no money out of this

lol, I second that. At least Megan is now the first to release Coilover's for the S12 Retailly.
Hah, that sucks... pretty much with any S13 Coilover kit can be fitted on an S12. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) They just provide the cup for the rear to be coiled/adjusted.

RedneckOct 12, 2007, 2:43 am · #23

I thought $1050.00 is fairly cheap for a full coilover kit?

myth_S12Oct 12, 2007, 2:50 am · #24

LoL, how much would they be if Club-S12 has a Group Buy?

for 1k ish, you can get stance, max, kbee, kts, which are all competitively priced and leaves megan in the dust performance wise. a set of kbee coilovers.. which are backed by aspec and practically everyone on zilvia is 800 dollars. Did i mention that kbee's are also inverted monotube?

Yeah but how do we get these coilovers (kbee, stance, max, exc.) for our s12's considering they don't make a kit? I would imagine you would have to do the s13 rear end conversion to make them work.
oldschoolsilviaOct 12, 2007, 4:06 am · #27

Never thought I would see the day someone actually helped out the S12 with coilovers, but I guess someone finally did (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

No, you don't have to do a rear end conversion. You just separate the spring from the shock, done.
blitzOct 12, 2007, 4:49 am · #29

welll megan didn't really make any kit...lol it's what's most of the guys been doing...adapting S13 to the S12 suspension.

even bart did better job at doing real bolt in coil over, too bad there isn't any for sale anymore. he made a lot of things for the S12. some one tell bart to be active again.

btw, doesn't single adjustable mean it's only have one setting? that mean it's non adjustable?

silverarrow27Oct 12, 2007, 6:13 am · #30

Wow, that price is quite high. I guess since they're the only ones with s12 coilovers they can be priced at anything they want.

SharasOct 12, 2007, 6:18 am · #31

Damn you guys, you ruind all my dreams of some nice 18 wheels (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif). But have no fear (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) i wount go any smaller than 17, thats for sure (oh and im planing to have the old school 15 too, currently im trying to make one guy sell me some original s12 GP wheel)

And finally the coilovers are now out, but whats with that one setting... This sure dosent sound good

The coilovers are out!

http://www.meganracing.com/products/produc...42&catid=93

$1050.00 for all 4.

Now we just need one person to purchase them, have a shop copy the coupler thing on the bottom of the spring, and sell them to everbody so we can use whatever s13 coilovers we like.

Seriosly why hasn't anyone thought of doing this earlier.
asparagusOct 12, 2007, 7:26 am · #33

Because everyone who really cares already makes their own spring seats and everyone else never bothers to think up their own ideas and depend on companies like megan to produce "bolt on" applications. The answer to the rear end is in more than few threads, but no one pays attention because it requires effort.

lvDaveOct 12, 2007, 7:44 am · #34

Very true, and I'm sure I could make me own seats. But it would minimize the downtime of instalation and get rid of the daunting idea of actually having to think, lol.

asparagusOct 12, 2007, 7:48 am · #35

lol see! That's what's gonna charge you $1050 for adjustability

I looked up those kbee coilovers you mentioned. Really only $800, that's a great deal.

Those seats could easily be copied with small pieces of pipe and window weld actually. I could even run a cable like some z31 guys do also for extra security. This is seaming easier and easier, if only I had the money.
RedneckOct 13, 2007, 2:27 am · #37

So I guess the 14 pages of hype was for nothing considering no one seems to happy with the final product.

asparagus @ Oct 11 2007, 02:05 AM cars old enough to drink don't have an excuse for being so high above the ground. frame rails need to touch the divider/reflectors on the street when you drive over them

fuck.... *internet high five* LOL

i would like to note that the parts donated for engineering is compliments of many a pints, fish tacos and a rolled car courtesy or eric and i...... why a rolled car? well how the hell else were we to get the rear end out?!
