I was toying with the idea of completely shaving out the beltline when i paint the car this summer since i\'m going to have to bondo nearly every panel anyways so I did up a couple rough chops to see what it would look like.. any opinions?

Shaving the beltline, do you guys think this looks good?
IMO it looks really too plain.
yea, i agree with indi
if its a early model , with the thin line you can just take it off and paint it without the rubber black line looks better
Makes the car look topless... only wearing a skirt...
haha, looks like the car is naked.
Looks like a *gasp* Celica Supra that lost its weird highmount spoiler and gained an S12 one.
So what i\'m hearing is no then? lol.. What about flat black car with a brushed aluminium beltline? This is gonna be a little harder to chop..
I like it, looks smoother, almost like you did something different; but you cant quite put your finger on!

ewwwww looks like some kind of rejected american car
the problem is, if u remove the trim channel, u have to deal with the front and rear sections where the trim continues. i considered doing this to my own car but it takes away alot of the cars character imo. what im doing is just removing all the trim and leaving the channel. it looks pretty good
MAYBE if you had some pinstripes about 2\" below the windows and stuff..
otherwise, if it had to be solid, id do it widebody (gran prix style)
It\'s just an opinion, but I don\'t like S12s in single colour because it accentuates the strange waist the body has, and removing that trim just makes it a whole lot worse.
HOWEVER, were the body kitted, I would probably think differently...
*Apologies to all single colour S12 owners*

I reckon if u photoshop the side skirts and rear pods the same colour as the car, ppl may think differently about it
could u give it a whirl

I was considering doing the same to mine at first, but then realized that the sides would look too plain, plus the fact that the (MkII) bumper trims are actually molded with the bumpers, so it\'d be a huge pain in the ass to try to smooth those; if you were going to proceed IMO that is what you\'d have to do though as it\'d look ver strange to have no belt line but still have the line on the front and rear. My plan had changed to just painting the belt line white (same as the rest of the body) but recently I\'m getting enamored with the idea of doing it in glossy black....keep it looking old school!
It looks good if you dont fill in the groove, just loose the trim, or paint it the same color as the car.

HOLY CRAP, who\'s S12 is that?!?! That\'s about the CLEANEST kitted S12 I\'ve ever seen!
I\'d say loose the side trim, but don\'t fill in the lines like Jokes suggested.

I would have a agree that that looks hot as!
May have 2 steal that idea 4 later!

Yes that car is truly beautiful. It belongs to a fellow club s12'er by the name of SR12DET I belive. He is also the only member with an existing Erebuni kit and is wiling to replicate it to whom ever is up to the task of making it, but he lives pretty far from any members that can help with that matter.
i REALLY like the "molded" spoiler at the rear of the hatch's
Looks like it's OEM
