Greetings and Welcome,

I liked your email address comment. Actually my wife introduced me to the S12 many many years ago, however I'm the one that gets covered with grease and dirt keeping the fleet running after all these years.

Whats the chassis model of your 95, I think its after the S12, but I'm not sure of how Nissan coded things.

Have fun
Ron

Were in mid missouri? I also have to ask what prompted you to sign up on our special (short bus) little board? =)

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAH!!!!!! =)

My sister goes to SBU. I visit her all the time. I have some friends who live in springfeild too. So it usually ends up being a 2 in one blow. That is the smallest town (dry too, icon_confused.gif ). Springfeilds fun though. I'm actually in Lawrence, KS.

On a note about the cars:
These are fun little cars. I sware once you go RWD you won't want anything else.

ughhhh i hate SBU ... at one point they had all the towns liquor liscences in town so that there couldn't be any "mind altering drugs" in this town .... they tried to do that in the middle of the meth capital of the world lol..they also prevent us from getting MTV on cable... in other words they own this town -l-..... i used to live in kansas... too little to remember it tho -l- ....

I can honestly say that I have NEVER ever driven a RWD icon_sad.gif

Me and my sis are very different people but I have always liked her and her friends ( I enjoy varing opions on life, even if they are radical). Its actually much easier on me, her being so religious and all, she's much less likely to end up doing all the sh!t I did. =) Y, are you there if you don't like it though. Honestly I didn't even remember seeing much housing off campus (town is small!). Oh and you're really not missing much w/o the MTV. The alcohol is another storie. MTV = BS!!! Me and corp radio don't get along.

well rolla is quite a bit bigger than bolivar.... and SBU is a southern baptist college...also this town is built around the college...if there weren't the college there wouldn't be a town here...

If SBU weren't there I don't think there'd be a town so the control doesn't surprise me. I remember hearing about that for the first time, it did screw w/ my head. Well maybe next time I'm down that way I'll say hi. I'd actually be down this weekend for the Perfect Circle show but dec is crazy for retail (getting days off) and the move has left me broke. hope to see you around here...

Really? You have to change the head to run mechanical? That's one oddball engine.

Ya the weight on the ZX isn't too cool but my biggest thing is the semi training arm rear. I don't like it in the Z31 or S12 either. I believe the ZX has a weaker set up than us too??? Thats actually why I want to get into an S13 or Z32. They both have much better suspension set ups. Though if I were to get a Z32 I don't think I'd keep the stock DE. I know it sounds crazy but I think the car could handle even better w/ a lighter engine.

PS - I'm sorry we have slightly taken over your introductor post kallie.

Whats the major difference between the 95 and the 96. We looked at them when they were new, but after checking out a Z32, decided we'd wait until the Z32 depreciated quite a bit. At this rate, maybe 2010.......

I still wish I would have test driven the DMC-12 in 83.

I have to ask the same question?

Why a 96??? Why not just drop some cash on the one you have now???

Was 96 the facelift? Cuz I know the facelift didn't look much better? Ooooooo.... if you still want a FWD SR y not a 2000NX??? Nismo made a killer suspension for them if its still on the market. Suposed to be great little cars, just rare as all get out.

Oh, and Ron, The Z32 are pretty cheap right now. I've seen Na's for $1500.?.

$1500 for a Z32, wow, thats cheap. Of course thats probably like the $650 I paid for my Z31, pretty worn out. I'm not 100% sure the Z31 unibody will make it through the winter, so that may be an option for late spring.

Depending on what breaks through 1st quarter 04, I may need to absolutely get a TIG welder. Then the unibody will not longer be a concern, however time will. I'd get a MIG, but unfortunately I can't really justify it as a business expense unlike the TIG for welding custom sensors. I picked up a CO2 Laser last fall, but its a mite bit too wimpy for what I need to do, but its cool.

Also, anyone have any good web links for the 95 and or 96. I'm curious.

Thanks
Ron

Basically the same deal here. Fixed the wifes up (the 84 S12), then when the Mustang hit 265000, I added the 86 S12. I keep my wifes car in pretty much pristine condition, and we use it for long trips. I used the 86 for business and as a daily driver. My wife wanted our first Z31, and I don't drive it at all. My latest dd is the 85 Z31.

I thought I was getting too many cars, but my sw guy has 7 and he's not even married yet. He was getting a little frustrated with ODBII issues, so he finally went out and got a 96 so he can work at home. I end up doing most of the testing on new cars, so I have to borrow them from my clients fleet of 2003's and 04's. My neighbor commented about me having a different car every couple days when we were reverse engineering some screwy comms protocols. Although I did have a Pontiac Convertible for about a week. It was supposed to be the same chassis as the Cavalier, but they kept a bunch of legacy items from older Pontiacs that proved a major headache.

I don't really see any difference in the body but I can understand the electrical thing. I had a 93 corolla and my mom had a 95. My car like shit compared to hers. They had the same miles and had been taken care of the same? 93 was the first yr for that gen and I guess it took them a while to work out the kinks. I'm not big on matching cars. It can turn out ok if you modify them drasticaly different (one road race/one rally) but I would prefer to have as many different horse in the stable as possible. icon_biggrin.gif get an S12!!!

I think Kallie's finace is on to something. When the vehicles are similiar maintenace becomes much easier, and there is also part swapping as needed. I can see your point of view regarding variety, but for a young couple, the matched pair may make things easier.

You say you put a lot of time and money into your car, and if memory serves me, you are keeping it stock. Since it's less than half the age of our S12's what kind of things did you have to do?

Thanks
Ron
