sitting around in my last class of the day i decided to surf the internet for cars and such when i came across the most awesome thing i've seen in a while.. a 1990 Nissan Skyline for $860,.. that is not a typo my friends,.. $860,.. now the reason i say life isn't fair is because even if i were to buy the car for 860, then i would get to spend another, what $25000 making it legal in the US?! thats just rediculous if you ask me, but oh well,.. i just thought i'd share that b/c to me, this truely is the DEAL OF THE CENTURY!!!

Yeah, that deck does look a bit spendy. The only thing I can say is: "What's wrong with it?" THat's a good point too. If ya got the money...buy it and part it out. Myabe keep the engine and tranny for yourself? icon_cool.gif

what would be the process of importing one, and what needs to be done to make it legal?

RaguelDec 3, 2003, 4:35 pm · #10

acctually it is a quick learn to drive left handed, i used to work at a classic british auto shop (university motors ltd., if you look in MG magazine there is always an ad), and a lot of the cars were right hand drive wich is always weird but a lot of fun when your driving down the road in a '37 MG TD, and a car full of hot girls on there way to the beach pull up next to you wanting a ride (true story).

I can't even imagine.......hey you know what would REALLY suck? If the pedals were switched on RHD cars too! Imagine clutching with your right foot and gas with your left! icon_eek.gif

The engine, instrument panel, exhaust system, and crash protection would all have to be modified. Realize too that with all cars, esp. Skylines, that all of them are not the same. The car pictured there likely isn't a GT-R, but more of a base model Skyline. Remember, we now get base Skylines here in the states (Infiniti G35) and be it they are fast, the early 90's base cars are probably not as badass at all and even if they do use the same RB series motor they will not be the beefyness of the DETT engines, just as the CA18ET motor bottom end really doesn't compare strengthwise to the CA18DET and they were put in the same car. It would be a nice car, but likely not worth the money/work. I would look to get one imported through Motorex, they can get cars and legalize them that are not necessarily are the GT-R's and as a result cost a good deal less (esp. the earlier R32 models).
