I know that the mad scientist has been gone for a while now.

He also disappered off the Nico forums about the same time.

I guess he got really busy.... icon_confused.gif

I think that Shaun P. is maintaining the old yahoo forum, and doesn't come here anymore...something like that.

Yeah, the last time I spoke to mad scientist was after I PM'd him to let him know the JDM clearcorners arrived.

Wonder where he went?

Nah I dont mind, I know it's a funny story but this is seriously what happened: I was in a 2000 Expedition Driving home after working all night, like 5am, it was still dark. I come into a patch of fog doing about 55 or 60 on the highway so I slow it down some. Time I let off the brakes a pig (yes a hog) comes in the road and he was so big, and with him being where he was in the road that if I'd hit him I would've went into the right ditch and hit a tree head on. So I lightly hit the brakes and turned to the right and the brakes locked up. The ABS on this one were messed up but noone told me. Anywho, I ended up going across the road into the left ditch, spinning around twice and since the ditch was about 8 feet deep, the vehicle turned over. It came within $1000 of having totalled the Expedition, bent the frame, busted some windows did some other damage I can't recall too well. I had to go through physical therapy for a couple months, but I've got permanent damage. But, I'm alive now and hopefully a decent S12 will pop up around here soon... icon_smile.gif

Dang man you're really coming along with the 200. Ever change out the rims? Have you put the T28 on yet?

Ouch Shaun...that sounds like it really hurt. My parents have a 91 explorer and that thing seems to have massivally touchy brakes too...as in wheel lock up. Is that sorta what happened?

Anyways, are you plannin on poppin back in here form time to time?

One thing to check out is Mr.200's visual mod for headlights.

Also, hit up my new website, just to check out my ride and I also have some pics up of Alps "wide body" S12.

Umm...lots of new members and new info, just look around I guess.

Glad to see you back. icon_biggrin.gif

Man that sounds like a bum deal. Did you at least get some revenge bacon from the hog?

Glad that you're still with us, Shaun. I thought SUV's were supposed to be safe......hmmph.
Yeah if you're looking to catch up, you'll get a kick out of Mr. 200's headlights. Bart's suspension is really coming along too. There's also Dan's Opel project. Also, you can check out my new remodelled SE V6 site at www.v6-s12.com.

Yeah the brakes locked up. The insurance guy didn't want to believe me 'cause of the tires on this thing and with it having ABS (supposedly lol) but the skidmarks are still there and I had to take him out there and show it to him. He paid for it, but also jacked up my insurance rates by over $100/ month.

I like your website dude. That is one sweet wide-body. Are there any pics of Mr. 200's car since he finished? I'd like to see that.

Wacomuk: Yes. icon_lol.gif icon_cool.gif icon_twisted.gif

Chris: thanks dude. Can't believe you and Hendrik have such similar cars now, that's awesome! Nice site too. BTW is Arro still around?

Arro hasn't been around much the past few months, I really miss him. Last I heard he was busy with work and he was moving, and his CA18 died so he was trying to get an FJ, haven't heard from him in awhile.......

"no internet access at the house, been busy as hell and generally useless recently. I shall return as soon as i get my own net hookup. I'll post a hello over there today to let everyone know I'm alive. =) "

ANd yeah, I've been buried in stuff...

Losing townhome, moving in with best friend who I used to live next to before.

Helping girlfriend out with her 280Z, arranging the installation of a replacement engine, and the repairs of all sorts of odds and ends on it. Finally runs now, just got some other stuff to do to it to get it roadworthy after nearly four years of sitting on the same spot in her parents' driveway.

Still working a shitty shitty job for minimum wage, still trying to look for better work, been shelling all my income to rent and behind on bills. Moving in with buddy will reduce rent by 2/3, so I can catch up. Title is now clean on the S12, I plan to rebuild the CA20ET for the time being, and switch tot he CA20E intake manifold in the process. Later I will indeed get the FJ but right now I'm just trying to survive.

Down to one car presently, my '91 VW Corrado G60... supercharger sofar is holding up, redid the bearings onthe rods, second gear has to be granny shifted or it grinds, as of two days ago first violently pops out of gear so now we have to drive it off the line in 2nd icon_sad.gif Someone broke in and stole the stereo, amp, Bazooka base tube, and the A-pillar pod, including the VDO boost and oil pressure gauges. As well as Livy's new Dickies jacket icon_sad.gif. It happened right in front of her parents' house... She was pissed, it was almost like Monkey Shines if you've ever seen that movie icon_razz.gif

There is a shortage of work in my field. I've got a couple leads but it's really slow going. Bills got so bad I lost my landline, probably for many many years since it will go to collections long before I can do anything about it. Luckilly my buddy has a landline so you'll be seeing more of me here.

WIth any luck I can fix the Shelby next, then figure out why the mechanically-new DSM isnt firing (via expensive auto electrician I think), get the S12 going again, maybe land a substantial job again, save some, and move into a house with Livy if she's willing to, since I know she would want the use of the garage and a driveway as much as I. Hopefully she won't be in as much pain by then and can comfortably wrench on her car; the injury from her accident is still a big burden on her.

Just gotta be patient, it's been hard for me, hard for her, but things will smooth out eventually.

Holy Shit! there are just enough fun times to be had by all. A good friend of mine got into a bad accident coming home from a concert. I guess he fell asleep at the wheel (he doesn't remember exactly). He spun his car around and smacked a light pole. Car was totalled, they had to cut the car apart to get him out. He's alive thank god but very betten. I guess hes actually missing a chunk of bone from his left arm. Their not shure whats going to happen w/ that. Everythign else should heal properly though. He just got out of ICU and hopefully will be out of the hospital soon. He's a really great guy it's really fucked up to see him like this. I'm sorry about your accident shaun, I hope you get to feeling better too. These things suck!

I feel where you're coming from with the job and $$$ situation Arro. I graduated college with a computer degree just as the IT field was tanking in 2000. I got laid off 3 times my first 2 1/2 years out of school. I'm still catching up on credit cards, etc. It was really tough for a long time, sold all sorts of stuff on eBay and just hocked other stuff to keep the lights on. Also during this period (March 2002 to be exact) my apartment got burglarized and all my computer stuff got stolen.
Tought times, to be sure. Best thing to do is keep your attitude positive, I look back on those really lean times as a sort of adventure now, but who knows when lean times might suddenly knock on the door again. Once again I thank God I'm able to own my favorite car in the world with no car payment!

Finished? icon_lol.gif

No, no pics of it finished ... only photochops. But yeah I'll post one here for you Shaun.

This is about as far as I've gotten ... cash crunch, lost landline ... sounds like a familiar story. I also have been having problems getting my hands on a welder to finally finish this off ... I did redo it since this pic, the lights just weren't quite straight enough.

Anyway, here's a photochop of what I hope it ends up working out to be.

Sorry to hear about your accident Shaun. What exactly is wrong with your back?

When I wrecked my ZX11 7 years ago (60mph into the side of a taxi cab that blew a stop) I f*cked my back pretty bad myself. Spinal Shock Syndrome ... Physio and massage therapy keeps me mobile, but most days, especially in the winter time, I'm gimping around like Quasimodo. Walking around on the balls of your feet for the rest of your life kind of eliminates any chance of "strutting."
